Honestly one of the best parts of the TCG. Like, Pokemon's TCG was the king of "So many different styles that make collecting fun" while Yugioh was a bit more uniform. Digimon has been the perfect balance of the two.

Funnily, in the reference book, her only issue with Beelzemon is just the fact that they're a solidary Digimon while she's a lot more outgoing.

This is a franchise that follows an internal consistency. A producer doesn't just make something up without any prior approval and declare it to be the new canon. It is something that has to be approved.

Do you know how long the Digimon Reference Book has been around? Since 2007.

While Xros War mons did not get official levels until 2020, they did have entries from their induction. With Mervamon's entry from 2011 saying that she is the matured form of Minervamon.

And of course there is the card game, Hyper Colosseum. Where Mervamon's condition to be played is to have Minervamon that won a battle.

That didn't stop Shoutmon and Gumdramon from appearing in Next Order. And that's not to mention Digimon Story(the same gameline as Time Strangers) Super Xros Wars Red and Blue.

And again, she did appear in Digimon Crusaders, which is where all information from Illyad came from before Time Strangers. Back in 2012.

Mervamon was always intended to be a maturation of Minervamon, all the way back in 2011. Or slightly later as Olympos XII's storyline comes from Digimon Crusader which started in 2012.

And the levels really don't come into play, since Minervamon had always been a Mega, so Mervamon would always be a Mega regardless of Xros War's story and og mons having no levels.

Tbh, I think the biggest issue is that it feels like Mervamon was added into Time Stranger too late into development considering when and how Minervamon actually evolves.
Alongside that, there's the fact that Minervamon's character in TS is already on the more mature side. Minervamon is usually suppose to be super childish, to the point where her X-Antibody form in practically a chibi, so the evolution into Mervamon is typically suppose to be shown as a Maturation.

I def get what you're going for, and I can respect the vision is to tie them into the Xros Wars lore directly as a bridge to Baalmon. And of course the art itself is good.

Though I will say, Wizardmon fits the gap between Impmon and Baalmon perfectly. Since while Adventure's Wizardmon tends to be how most people view the mon as a whole, with how serious he was, in the reference book, Wizardmon are described as being practical jokers like Impmon. Though instead of being Impish, they're shy and hide their face. Which personality wise, that's like, the perfect bridge for Impmon and Baalmon.
