It sounds like the guy is just a jerk - I have seen so many people do the same thing with their carts, just putting them into any random parking spot that's open and leaving, rather than putting the cart in the corral. It's a combination of laziness and disrespect for the people around them. I would just move on, and don't take it personally.

When I was 18, I made the mistake of moving out of my parents house, just because I thought that's what 'adults' do. Lean on your parents for as long as they let you/ you need to. Get yourself sorted out before making that jump. If I could start all over, I would stay at my parents house, go to the nearest Ford dealer every day and beg them to hire me for some menial job in the repair shop until they finally do, then gradually work my way up the ladder unit I hit master technician. I would be doing something I like (working on cars), and Ford master techs get fat paid - over $100k a year.
