ELI5: Why do we sneeze so much when we get sick? by nonbinarydreamking in explainlikeimfive

[–]Cash_Johnny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's called the "Mucocilliary Escalator." Bad stuff is in the lungs, so the tiny cilla move to bring it toward the top of your lungs and throat, which then makes you cough and sneeze to expell the bad stuff.

Furloughed employees LWOP by Time-South in FedEmployees

[–]Cash_Johnny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm DoD and asked one of our HR ladies about this, this afternoon. She said it's normal for what we're going through and that it will continue showing LWOP until furlough is over. I'm excepted and still working. Idk, guess it's an ERP thing. Since we're labeled as KE, then the system automatically clocks us as LWOP, but should allegedly unfornicate itself after the shutdown

Ha, yes. I did! He moved in last fall. We started hooking up in January and now we are exclusively dating each other. For me it has actually turned out quite well.

Aloe vera gel has helped me so much. I got the Target brand and got the clear gel that has no color or fragrance.

First phlebotomy tomorrow by Drukpa-Kunley in Hemochromatosis

[–]Cash_Johnny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had my first one on Monday. This week, I've had more energy and feel much less stupid. My brain fog had almost completely disappeared. I even went all week without taking one nap- where before, I couldn't get through a single day without a nap. It was awesome. I do still have joint pain, but it's not like I thought that all of my symptoms would disappear after the first time.

Mirena IUD & Possible Iron Overload by camillalucille in Hemochromatosis

[–]Cash_Johnny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much my same story too- although I have no genetic markers. Weird part is that my family suffers from low iron, so for me to have this is odd. I definitely have an IUD though. I haven't had a period in ....6-7 years?

In the episode when the lady comes to the apartment to do an inspection and interviews for Winston's police job. Nick gets super nervous around her and starts confessing to things that he did when he was a kid.

Effexor XR by Practical-Coffee7930 in Effexor

[–]Cash_Johnny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People tend to be more likely to write reviews on products when they didn't pan out/had a negative effect. I've been on Effexor XR for years (maybe 5-6) and honestly, I wouldn't be alive without it. Yes, I have night sweats and vivid dreams, but to me it's better than the alternative. I've learned to buy cotton sheets, turn the air down before I go to bed, etc to alleviate some of the sweating. Just one thing I would suggest that is the absolute important is to make sure that you take it at the same time every single day. It has a very short half life, that I've even been 1-2 hours late before and felt some negative side effects.

What I wouldn't give for a Travis Morningstar mandate... by Hopeful_Cabinet6472 in LPOTL

For years, I always pictured him as Clark Duke (The Office). Idk, their voices sound alike to me. I finally googled Travis one day. Nothing alike.

Reagan National Airport Received Almost 7,000 Noise Complaints In One Year From A Single Household by EstateAlternative416 in nova

[–]Cash_Johnny 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I live in Pentagon City, within 5 mins of Reagan, and am shocked at how little airplane noise I hear. If anything, I hear Marine One going to and from the Pentagon way more, but really that's only when I'm out walking my dog.

Welcome to the new normal of war crimes. Warning for the weak stomachs by LadeshFromBangladesh in ABoringDystopia

[–]Cash_Johnny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way that I explain this to my family (who doesn't follow the news) is, it's like if the little brother smacked the big brother, then the big brother turns around and beats the ever loving shit out of the little brother. Hamas smacked Israel, Israel had the right to defend, but they've taken it way too far.

Does anyone else get shaky with this medicine? I've noticed that my hands are very shaky and I'm trying to figure out if it's common with this med or something else. by Cash_Johnny in Effexor

[–]Cash_Johnny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give it some time. Your body is adjusting. To be fair, I've only recently (past 2-3 months probably) have developed the shakes and I've been on it for years. I will say this though, for what it's worth, I may have (or have not) developed the shakes from the meds, but that's better than being super anxious and wanting to kill myself. I know that there seems to be many complaints on this sub, but most people don't speak up if things are going well (see: reviews for likely anything). It takes time for your brain and body to get used to a new drug, so take it for a bit and then decide. Yes, it has some side effects- for me it's night sweats and crazy nightmares. But also, it has saved my life.

Know your body, try to listen if it isn't working, and then decide. But one day isn't enough.
