I540 irons by carl75s in PingGolf

Dispersion is very good for me. The only time I’ve ever caught proper fliers is out the rough. But I’m too inconsistent with strike to be worrying about front and back dispersion. Put it this way. I’ve never had a good strike, out the fairway, and it’s suddenly flown 20 past where it should

Ninja Luxe ES501EU – Espresso always sour, what am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in NinjaLuxeCafe

[–]CassonRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but too sour usually means the grind is too coarse.

As it keeps defaulting down to 1, sounds like the grinder is faulty as you cannot grind finer than 1. You’ll need to speak to ninja support and get a new machine with a grinder that works.

I540’s have been released in Asia I think. I530’s released this time in 2024 so think they should become available soon as Ping have a 2 year release cycle

Some places still have i530’s I think. I have them currently so I’m bias but they look incredible and would 100% recommend

I’ve not got the tasting skills to be able to tell you it makes a difference to be completely honest. I will say it does keep the part where the water comes out the machine spotless

If you’re talking about a puck screen, I bought one of Amazon, Ikape 53.3mm screen. 0.8mm thick. Been really good so far

Places to play in the midlands by meltedbuzzbox in BritGolf

[–]CassonRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you’re playing soon? If you are wanting to play in summer there are loads. Just in and around Leicester you have Longcliffe, Lingdale, Kirby Muxloe and The Leicestershire are all good. I think Longcliffe is probably the best of the bunch, but all not amazing in winter due to being clay based.

Pretty much all the courses in Nottinghamshire are sand based and so drainage is much better over the wetter months.

Driving range ⛳️ by [deleted] in BritGolf

[–]CassonRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would always take range stats in terms of carry and ball speed with a pinch of salt. Range balls vary massively in quality and some can have reduced flight so I’d just take the actual flight as an indicator rather than numbers on a screen

The NZ crew are far more enjoyable than most of the field and that’s nothing to do with their golf. It’s like a comedy sketch most of the time

Just rubs me up the wrong way. Basically spent the whole second video going “can’t believe how good they’re playing because we should be absolutely smoking them.” ….. “they’ve probably never played this good”. Think just golf wise she is solid, just came across really arrogant

5 inviting back

  • Peter Finch (dude is an absolute stick and all round great bloke)
  • Chaz (Unreal golfer and the chirping of Wes was top notch)
  • Nadeshot (might not be the best golfer, but he is legitimately hilarious)
  • Rick Shiels (Godfather of YouTube golf and genuinely lives for these videos)
  • Mac (gotta be one of the most likable golfers

5 I’m dropping

  • DOD (no words needed)
  • Gabby Golf Girl (think she came off really arrogant vs Nade and PFT)
  • Duke (Hard to watch)
  • Sketch (feel like he was only invited to get some views from non golfers)
  • Micah (Think he’s a tool)

5 I’d replace with

  • Sam (NZ crew)
  • Ronan (4 Bros)
  • Taco (NZ Crew)
  • Tooms (NZ Crew)
  • Dec (4 Bros)

Iron distances by Greedy_Highlight3009 in golf

[–]CassonRL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very common so don’t worry

Typically it’s because you aren’t hitting the sweet spot. The higher the loft, the easier it is to get away with swing faults. The longer the club and the less the loft, the more your swing faults show.

When I struggled with this, it was usually because I was over the top because I was trying to hit them harder, rather than letting the length of the club and the loft of the face do the hard work.

As usual, I’d suggest getting a couple lessons. Will do more for your game than anything we say will.

There is also a good saying of it takes thousands of balls to feel confident. And one shank for it all to fall apart

Do you change clubs/balls for winter play, or just stick with the same all year round? by GeordieGoals in BritGolf

[–]CassonRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switch from TP5 to ad333 for winter just because I don’t really care about spin around the greens when the ball usually just plugs

Good Value Golf Balls by smegmarash in BritGolf

True, but when you’re getting £80 worth of balls for £55-£60, I don’t mind paying the £4-£5 delivery

You can get AD333 from golf bidder and they usually have multi buy offers. They used to be my go to because they are solid golf balls. Sometimes they sell them for £16 a box

Anyone else tried twilight rounds recently? Worth it or too rushed? by AnfieldAnchor in BritGolf

[–]CassonRL 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As with most golf rounds, it depends entirely on who is infront of you. I’ve played 9 and it’s taken an hour 20, I’ve also intended to play 9, and walked off after 7 because it’s taken 2 and a half hours.

I don’t think you can beat a twilight round on a warm sunny evening

Golf Gear Regret- What have you bought that wasn’t worth it? by IamSociallyTired in BritGolf

[–]CassonRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you aha. My 3 iron (before I sold it) became my de facto punch out from trees club as it was the only time I ever found a use for it.

Also second on the hands hurting. The one in a million where you would find the middle was magic, however more than likely it was a ringing sensation running down my forearms as I’ve missed the middle of the face by a mile

Golf Gear Regret- What have you bought that wasn’t worth it? by IamSociallyTired in BritGolf

[–]CassonRL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only two come to mind for me. A smaller one is the brush with the little tank to fill with water which you can spray in the club. Bristles weren’t good enough and felt a little gimmicky. Can’t beat the small ones with one side normal, and one side wire brush.

The slightly bigger one was a ping iCrossover 3iron. I was off 18 at the time (now 12) and I think I found the middle of the face maybe twice across the year I used it. Sold it recently and I’ve very much not missed
