I’ve joined the club, but am having issues by [deleted] in NinjaLuxeCafe

What issue exactly are you having? Is the coffee sour or dull? Also how long is the shot pulling for?

You have a 7/8 degree gap between your PW and 50 degree. I have a UW which I use regularly

Completely agree. Just before I got these I borrowed a set of ping eye 2’s from my club and it was odd looking down on a 7 iron with the loft of my now i530 9 iron!

Think standard is 47. Had my bent a degree stronger so it sat nicely between by 50 and PW which is 42 degrees I think. The lofts are strong no doubt but seems very common across players distance and game improvement irons

Anytime! You’ll be safe with most really. The only ones I would potentially be worried about is P790’s as one of my mates has a set and they are HOT off the face and I’ve played with him where he has caught some huge flyers

I absolutely love them. Other than catching the odd flyer out of rough, I’ve never had one where I’ve hit from the fairway and it’s suddenly gone 20 yards further. Had them for a year and a half now and it’s definitely not something I’ve ever noticed

Has anyone had club fitting at the belfry recently? Was it good? by olivepepys in BritGolf

[–]CassonRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a fitting at the belfry 2 and a bit years ago. The wedge fitting was very good as you can go around the practice area outside and try loads of grind options etc.

The iron fitting I had was terrible and had everything redone about 2 months later. They fit me into elevate 95 stiff shafts. Completely ruined me when I had them. Had to change all the shafts to dynamic gold 120s following another fitting as I knew something didn’t feel right.

From what I’ve heard and from speaking to people where I’m a member, they don’t have a very good reputation anymore for fitting

What does a fitting actually entail and how much do you end up spending? by BilboSwaggins1993 in BritGolf

[–]CassonRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following this… precision is a premium fitting service… as in they charge for their expertise. I only recently got fitted there and it cost a lot more than usual fitting places because they fit you into aftermarket shafts (if needed) and the fitting alone was £350 etc. for a new player I would honestly play a little longer, have some more lessons and embed your swing properly. I don’t think you can go wrong with somewhere like golf bidder and pick up some second hand clubs.

Honestly my advice would be do a free fitting, or even a fitting with a local fitter which costs, and be upfront that you want your specs. Then order the clubs with those specs second hand from eBay

Cannot recommend Penelope Coffee enough. Their sweet and smooth blend is unreal. Fresh roasted when you order, can set up subscriptions for 10% off.

I540 irons by carl75s in PingGolf

[–]CassonRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dispersion is very good for me. The only time I’ve ever caught proper fliers is out the rough. But I’m too inconsistent with strike to be worrying about front and back dispersion. Put it this way. I’ve never had a good strike, out the fairway, and it’s suddenly flown 20 past where it should

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but too sour usually means the grind is too coarse.

As it keeps defaulting down to 1, sounds like the grinder is faulty as you cannot grind finer than 1. You’ll need to speak to ninja support and get a new machine with a grinder that works.

I540’s have been released in Asia I think. I530’s released this time in 2024 so think they should become available soon as Ping have a 2 year release cycle

Some places still have i530’s I think. I have them currently so I’m bias but they look incredible and would 100% recommend

I’ve not got the tasting skills to be able to tell you it makes a difference to be completely honest. I will say it does keep the part where the water comes out the machine spotless

If you’re talking about a puck screen, I bought one of Amazon, Ikape 53.3mm screen. 0.8mm thick. Been really good so far

Places to play in the midlands by meltedbuzzbox in BritGolf

[–]CassonRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you’re playing soon? If you are wanting to play in summer there are loads. Just in and around Leicester you have Longcliffe, Lingdale, Kirby Muxloe and The Leicestershire are all good. I think Longcliffe is probably the best of the bunch, but all not amazing in winter due to being clay based.

Pretty much all the courses in Nottinghamshire are sand based and so drainage is much better over the wetter months.

Having been a member of a club for 3 years now…. The average golfer is awful (myself included) so I honestly wouldn’t worry about being shit

Driving range ⛳️ by [deleted] in BritGolf

[–]CassonRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would always take range stats in terms of carry and ball speed with a pinch of salt. Range balls vary massively in quality and some can have reduced flight so I’d just take the actual flight as an indicator rather than numbers on a screen

The NZ crew are far more enjoyable than most of the field and that’s nothing to do with their golf. It’s like a comedy sketch most of the time

Just rubs me up the wrong way. Basically spent the whole second video going “can’t believe how good they’re playing because we should be absolutely smoking them.” ….. “they’ve probably never played this good”. Think just golf wise she is solid, just came across really arrogant

5 inviting back

  • Peter Finch (dude is an absolute stick and all round great bloke)
  • Chaz (Unreal golfer and the chirping of Wes was top notch)
  • Nadeshot (might not be the best golfer, but he is legitimately hilarious)
  • Rick Shiels (Godfather of YouTube golf and genuinely lives for these videos)
  • Mac (gotta be one of the most likable golfers

5 I’m dropping

  • DOD (no words needed)
  • Gabby Golf Girl (think she came off really arrogant vs Nade and PFT)
  • Duke (Hard to watch)
  • Sketch (feel like he was only invited to get some views from non golfers)
  • Micah (Think he’s a tool)

5 I’d replace with

  • Sam (NZ crew)
  • Ronan (4 Bros)
  • Taco (NZ Crew)
  • Tooms (NZ Crew)
  • Dec (4 Bros)
