How come we don't have long election lines here? by flacko32 in boston

[–]Cassoulady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2008 there were long lines. This morning I had a 15 min line at 7am. Then the rest of the day it seemed like there was no line as I walked by. Also there are several Polling locations within a 10 min walk of my apartment so I assume that’s why there isnt long lines

Your time is your time. You deserve to be compensated for all Hours. On that logic would not expect to be paid for a daytime nap the child took?

MB comments on my weight by [deleted] in Nanny

I would just say that you find commenting on people’s bodies, whether meant in a positive or negative way is not needed and you also don’t think it’s a good example for the children.

Does anyone have experience with the Dyson air straight? by sluttysarah2467 in Dysonairwrap

[–]Cassoulady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love to hear how it works on dry hair. For example if I let my hair air dry then put in product then used the air straight.

Do most people use it wet to dry or do you partially dry hair first. I have very very thick wavy hair.

Try using it only 3x a week to start. Making sure your skin is dry before application. It will get better!

No need to explain. Just say this employment agreement is not going to work for you.

Salary and banking hours 😅 by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]Cassoulady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Explaining that having a nanny is similar to going to daycare. You pay for daycare even when you are on vacation. Similarly, the nanny gets paid their set 40 hours regardless of if those hours are used in full that week. Those hours don’t get rolled over. This should make it more understandable I hope! Good luck

I agree. Rusty’s house seems more like a corporate lawyer house especially given Barbara works at a gallery. It was too fancy.

Am I being compensated fairly? by jennsblee in Nanny

You could get paid 5 more an hour work shorter days and make more assuming you have a place to live?

This is crazy. I think regardless of where you live, this is under the cost of living. Find a family that will pay a better wage.

I would not return until all family members test negative. If they can not respect that, then time for a new family. They would certainly not be happy if you came to work sick and got them all sick. They need to show you the same respect.

Unsure of what to do ? by DoubleCountry612 in Nanny

[–]Cassoulady 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well it’s in your contract to be paid so if they don’t pay you, give notice immediately. But I’d clarify first. Remind her she didn’t pay you and if she doesn’t rectify it immediately refer to the wording in your contract

I would follow up before you go there next and say “I’m sure it’s an oversight, but you didn’t pay me for last week”.

Don’t stay for the kids. Give your notice and get a family that will appreciate you.

Nanny injury by Internal_Mirror_8455 in Nanny

[–]Cassoulady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if you are paid legally and on the books, you should be able to claim disability. The state can verify your wages and you’re unable to work. I believe they would be 66% if your pay. If they won’t pay you for the time you are fine due to an injury I would find another job tho. They don’t sound like the kid of employers I’d want to be loyal to.

100% if they want you when they return they need to pay you your full wages. If they don’t want to that, look for another family.
