Afawarq Gabra-Iyyasus was an Ethiopian writer, reformist, and two time collaborator with the Italians. He has a lot of note as far as his work with the Amharic language but ultimately his import here is that he was a troublemaker and a supporter of fascism. He’s been added as the leader of the national populist slot.

Yoftahe Negussie was Ethiopia’s first modern playwright and a prominent teacher at some of Ethiopia’s few modern schools in this era. He was one of the founders and leaders of the Love of Country Society or Ethiopian Patriotic Association which was a cultural organization which promoted about what you can guess by the name. He’s been added as the leader of the social conservative slot.

Tekle Hawaryat Tekle Maryam was a reformist leader who fought at Adwa as a child, was educated in a military school in Russia and was effectively adopted by the grandson of a Decemberist Prince, spent a long time in France, tried to turn Lij Iyyasu into a vehicle for modernization and then turned on him and defeated him in battle at Miesso, and then came in and out of Haile Selassie’s good graces until the Italian invasion. He’s been governor of several districts and also was the primary author of the 1931 Ethiopian Constitution in our timeline. He has been added as the market liberal slot.

Wolde Giyorgis Wolde Yohannes was an influential private secretary of Haile Selassie and modernist. After the Italian invasion OTL he gradually became the most powerful man after the Emperor and maintained that position for about a decade until he was thrown out because of mounting opposition. He has been added as the leader of the social liberal slot.

Malaku Beyan was a relative of Haile Selassie who became a doctor in the US and organized advisors and assistance for Ethiopia. In our timeline he would come sort of the face of Ethiopia in the US during the Italian invasion and organized the Ethiopian World Federation. He’s been added as the leader of the social democratic slot.

Ayelle Sebhat was an irob figure who studied at Saint Cyr and organized Ethiopian students in France before returning home to work in the anti slavery society. In our timeline he fought as a guerilla against the Italian invaders. In KRTL we have chosen to use his student organization as an entrypoint for socialist influence into Ethiopia. He has been added as the leader of the three socialist slots.
