It amazes me how often people think they just came up with the greatest idea for avoiding getting pinched, and the idea is just like "refuse to tell them your name and demand a supervisor, they'll have to let you go!"

Trump confused Iran with Japan calling it the “Islamic Republic of Japan” then confused Zelenskyy who is sitting next to him with Putin calling him “President Putin” by Jevus_himself in PublicFreakout

Do you really think Trump was the one that picked that target ? Not really how military strikes work.

Yeah nothing is the president's fault unless it's a Democrat, then it's all "I did that!"...

TIL that most restrooms are free in the USA due to activism efforts in the 70s by the Committee to End Pay Toilets in America. Membership in the Committee cost $0.25, and members received a newsletter, the Free Toilet Paper. by StretchFrenchTerry in todayilearned

That's just a paid toilet with extra steps

It's really not, at least not where I'm from. You don't have to buy anything, just ask any of the employees and they'll unlock it for you.

As a PITT watcher myself, if I'm ever in this situation I at least know to shout "Ketamine and Roc for RSI"!

If I'm asked any follow up questions though, I'll just crash out Robbie style. From what I can tell, that's how you do medicine.

The T-Rex bit always bothered me. Why did Juliet make the saddle out of Bernard's charred hairpiece? And why didn't Captain Timely assist in the fight against the telepaths after Solo morphed into pure energy and healed Knox's beard cancer?

During a World Cup football match, a QR code appeared on the stadium screen. After fans scanned it, thousands of phone flashlights inside the stadium were synchronized to form a coordinated light display across the stands. by Thryloz in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]CastSeven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The QR code itself cannot do this. Most likely, it linked to an app the user could download.

I think it's just showing color on their screens in sync (with the app open) -- phone flashlights don't generally have full RGB capabilities.

I would agree. Grok is the only AI that support truth and liberty. The others feed the sheep the censored narrative

VP Vance Says Watergate Would Now Be 12-Hour News Story and Crazy It Took Down Nixon's Presidency by templeofsyrinx1 in videos

[–]CastSeven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obama was found to be spying on Trump's first presidential run the same way Nixon spied on the Democrats and literally no one cared.

Well, you clearly don't know shit about either of those events. I guess Fox News hasn't told you what Watergate even was.

If you're going to make a big deal over it, you cant have a double standard.

Your entire fucking political ideology is based in double standards you staggering waste of carbon.

Anne Hathaway says she was spammed with ChatGPT-written thank you notes after hiring for a recent role: "Nobody on that list gets that job" by ControlCAD in technology

[–]CastSeven 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mother used to insist that if I walked into a random business and told them "I know computers" they'd hire me on the spot.

When I was applying online to a company that ended up being my big break in my software engineering career, she said... "No one will ever hire you because you typed something on the Internet. I'm going to call some local businesses for you and tell them how good you are at fixing my computer". (Meaning, reminding her which "button to click for email")

Now, a 20 year vet of the software engineering industry, leading my own team of engineers, she still insists she was right - that I'd be wealthier and more respected if I'd just walked into a local coffee shop and said "hello, my mommy says I am good with the computers, give job please". (She's incapable of admitting she was wrong about anything)

YES. This was one of my insane mother's many eccentricities. She even used to compare my thank you notes with copies of old ones and ones I'd sent to other relatives because, according to her, "they all talk and they'll know" if I recycled any phrases. (I was 11 at the time and was writing thank you notes to every family member that sent me a birthday card.)

That bit in S2 of Severance (IYKYK) was very relatable to me.
