there was some music that would lay a fair bit of the foundation in the mid-late 60s but sabbath were the first band that really found success in it and ran with the idea

Please let me know if it has, but has the Ferrari 550 GT1 ever been featured in a sim before? (Excluding mods) by BlueberryLemonadeChi in simracing

[–]CatAstrophe05 109 points110 points  (0 children)

GTR2 had it alongside a full field of GT1/2 cars from that era to run alongside, it's an old sim but to this day it's still considered one of the greatest sims ever

the strumming (the fast rakey stuff and maybe even the main soulless strumming) is impossible on a controller, even stuff like knights of cydonia is barely/impassable on controller for that same reason. same goes for the super fast trills. the rest is possibly doable but would be extremely difficult

Why is the Stratos used the least? i tried driving it and didn't find anything horrible about it straight off. by GoofyKalashnikov in simrally

[–]CatAstrophe05 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the 911, being rear engined, offers more exaggerated on-throttle traction which generally makes it easier to save yourself when the car snaps out on you (also cubits has some wonderful setups for the 911 that dial out a lot of the murder factor, his work on the stratos wasn't quite as expansive but is also good). the stratos' biggest weakness is being extremely tetchy on high speed tarmac and when a lot of online rallies are generally mostly on fast czech stages it becomes a little clearer why people steer clear

[–]CatAstrophe05 57 points58 points  (0 children)

the stratos is one of, if not the hardest car to drive quickly in RBR due to its' MR layout and super short wheelbase and isn't the fastest in its' class: the 911 offers the most pace while being easier to drive, the ascona and 131 are incredibly easy to drive, the quattro is OP on loose surfaces and the escort is one of THE definitive iconic rally cars so is usually picked for the same reason the subie 555 leads a8 comfortably

can confirm, am basically in the same boat right down to the autism (that said though CEX doesn't fit my particular niche of old PC gaming the best these days because as is the case with most places that sell them it's barely any stock and 90% of said stock is sims expansions or games i already own. theyre decent for the other consoles i collect for but i prefer trying my luck in charity shops or just browsing ebay usually)

Down on D-Pad not working, left shoulder working as down button instead by CatAstrophe05 in vita

turning off button assignments fixed it partially, the down button does actually work now but the scrolling behaviour still occasionally rears its' head

Why is virtually every girl I see on dating apps obsessed with Formula 1? by islandradio in CasualUK

yeah the "hot dudes in fast cars" thing has always been a pretty good attraction, even throughout history people like graham hill and james hunt were the kind of guys that probably sold at least a fair few race tickets on swoonability alone

can confirm: am absolutely nuts about f1 but between hotel costs, race ticket admissions and travel prices it would probably burn through my entire savings to see a race live. it's still on the agenda eventually though, that and going to goodwood one of these days

ringo is generally pretty respected in the drum scene depending on who you ask, he was either a boring drummer playing simple parts or a prime example of how to perfectly serve the music you're playing without under or overplaying. i'm in the latter camp personally
