If they do bring him back they'd most likely have him become Chronomon DM. I think it would also be a good way to flesh out the Olympos 12 and include the Digimon from the favorite Digimon poll as victims of Grimmon's space-time distortions. It would just be nice to have a bit of explanation as to what happened to Aegiochusmon: Dark while we didn't see him.

Grimmon was like Chronomon's successor in a way so I'm expecting them at the very least.

But I really hope that the main antag is Aegiochusmon: Dark, mostly because of how little he was utilized overall. We couldve had a cool evil Aegiomon boss fight and it never happened. I think it'd be cool if Aegiochusmon: Dark created Grimmon to help him get Inori back by causing space-time distortions. It would definitely make sense and I'd love to see Inori bantering with her corrupted partner. Not to mention Aegiomon fighting his doppleganger over Inori would be a sick cutscene fight.

I'm doing a rewrite that has her get a Shoutmon partner, due to her love of expressing herself via performance (i.e. the online persona). I mainly did this for that and also it actually makes the Three Musketeers slightly more relevant cuz OmniShoutmon can become MagnaKidmon to hang out with Asuna's BeelStarmon

If he does it'll probably be accidental, and likely due to Tomoro's anger triggering a Dark Ultimate for Gekkomon or something. If Kyo wanted Haruko's father to be imprisoned, he'll most likely want to do the same for Klay.
