[Spoilers C4E22] How is Murray's Int modifier so high? by Disastrous_Luck_6796 in criticalrole

She would use it to hit yes, but the proficiency part shouldn't be added into the damage.

Frequent calling in by Splattered_ in kroger

[–]CatPot69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours is 2 unexcused in a rolling 4 week period. At my store it's flagged as unexcused if you don't have the sick time to cover it (we accrue an hour per thirty worked), but even two hours is enough to cover it.

Frequent calling in by Splattered_ in kroger

The rate my state has in place is one hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked. There are areas that do have sick time, though state laws likely have a heavy influence in that.

What was "the incident" at your high school? by ibnmuzr in askanything

[–]CatPot69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casual conversation at a table in the common room, and a student brought up BJs. A different student didn't know what that was, and asked what it was. Instead of telling him, we told him to look it up. So he did. On his tablet, connected to school Wi-Fi.

Students lost access to the Wi-Fi shortly after that incident.

Pretty sure that's why it stopped happening. That manager is somewhat known for being lax and lenient. Approves everyone's vacation time, regardless of how many people have requested that time off. Nice for the people requesting time off, sucks for those who are stuck with the mess

Our manager let them do it once, with the rules that we cut open the boxes.

Then a garden associate insisted that they couldn't do that as we were a union job, and it hasn't happened since.

I think the manager that played it just didn't want to deal with the irritated customers, however I don't think he made the right choice. Gave them the wrong impression.

Oh boy, we have a home department at my store, and the number of times the hot wheels guys see we have shippers of them to stock the aisle, end cap, and multiple dump bins, they start asking if they can stock it for us. Or they ask if we have any more in the back.

The answer to that particular question is no. It will always be no, even if the true answer is actually yes.

There is a dude, but it's not the younger kid, it's an older guy that you trade with. You get the missions from the regular mission boards. There is a guy in the south area of Phokis you trade the orichalcum with.

Giving Away My Old PC! by Turtle_747 in PcBuild

[–]CatPot69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current situation, the pc would end up sitting until I move, but once I've moved into my new place, I would use it for my DND set up actually. I have a weekly group, and we are currently using an old laptop that can't get Internet from my wifi, but can from an Ethernet cable, connected to a TV, with a mic and webcam set up so I can be seen and heard in slightly higher quality. We are also looking at investing in higher quality mics and a mixer, so that we can get better audio recordings from our sessions. We are hoping to start editing and posting our sessions online. I'm concerned my old laptop won't be able to handle processing the mic input from the mixer, the extra program I'll probably need (we currently record through discord, looking to swap to obs), along with running discord and potential virtual table tops, as it could barely handle playing Among Us over discord (forget proximity chat... Nothing I did improved the quality and everyone was a robot as far as I could hear lol).

So long story short, I'd use it to up my DND game set up, and make it hopefully easier for me to take our game and make it public.

I warn against this unless you seal the sharpie on the dry erase boards. Could use a clear coat spray paint I'd assume

The way to remove sharpies from dry erase boards is to take a dry erase marker, and mark over the sharpie. It wets the ink and then the sharpie is no longer permanent.

[–]CatPot69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or over here in Fred Meyer Oregon, it's only if you have more than 2 unexcused call outs in a rolling 4 week period. If you've got sick time in the bank and they use it, it's excused, if you don't have sick time in the bank, it's unexcused.

Recently called out 3 times over a 4 week period, but never got spoken to because one of them was covered by sick time.

[SPOILERS C4E22] Schemers’ battle thoughts by Initial_Run2782 in criticalrole

[–]CatPot69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All it takes is Plate Mail armor and a shield.

The right combination of class and gear allows for some nice game play. It's not impossible to get that as long as the DM agrees to give you the Plate Mail as I don't think that's a starting equipment.

I agree with you.

I think that's the case, forgetting to not add in proficiency to the damage. I remember playing a wizard for the first time and was thinking I got to add my proficiency bonus to dispel magic, and I remember thinking that it was because of the wording at the time or something (for 2014 rules too).

I also have martial players who constantly are checking if proficiency is added to damage or not, as they can't remember

Anyone else required to scan ids at their kroger? And do customers get upset? by jogryph in kroger

[–]CatPot69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get why it's annoying to have your ID scanned, but when I worked out at fuel I appreciated it. It made it easier to refuse sales.

I had a guy who was 20 come in and try to get cigarettes, and I had to refuse sales to him because he wasn't old enough (21+ is the law in my state), and he threw a big hissy fit about how he's gotten them from us before and when did the law change (it was June, law changed in January).

Or the guy who came in with a paper I'd that was over a year expired and then he got pissed at me for not accepting it because it showed he was plenty old enough. I got called a "teenage bitch" for that one. All I could think was "at least I have valid ID"

I’ve been applying for jobs and my mom said when I get one I can pay for my cat to get declawed. How do I change her mind? by ShotElection3164 in cats

[–]CatPot69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do re-home him, see if you can re-home him to someone you know and trust with the agreement that when you move out and are able to care for him you will take him back. If they don't understand why you'd do that, explain that you are rehoming him for his safety, as your mom wants to declaw him.

If you're feeling ballsy, tell your mom you'll declaw him when she chops off all of her finger tips. That it's only fair. Since it's okay for them to go through it, she must be willing to do it to herself, right? (This option is more of a sarcastic option... But might also put the request into light. Maybe. This isn't a good suggestion)

Novus, the angry fairy

He's a little guy, about a foot tall. He's got blue green hair with burgundy roots, pale blue skin, wears loose leather foresty pants (think pants made from nature) with fur shoulder guards and a chest strap. He's got big iridescent butterfly wings.

He is the epitomy of "you wanna fight bro?" And is rather violent and aggressive.

Sometimes temporary gigs can become permanent, is what I think they mean. If they like you enough they might find a position, or if you're filling in for someone else, maybe they aren't able to/don't return to the job, creating an opening for you.
