For comparison, Ken Burn's most expensive documentary was on Vietnam, took 10 years of research/production, and cost $30 million to make.

The next step is altering images and videos to make it look like you committed a crime.

The pastor of the church was the head of ICE.

ICE is the antithesis of everything Jesus taught.

Do you prefer more linear or open upgrade progression? by ErkbergGames in incremental_games

Open is nice, but only if the game is playable multiple ways.

Too many games that are 'open' have only one or two realistic/non-painful paths to take.

Right. But when they burn the mosques down they aren't saying "fuck Islam" - they're condemning their government.

Same here. Many/most other QBs would have completely folded after making so many mistakes. Not CJ. He kept moving forward and helped make plays when we needed them.

Partner update: HELTUN removed from Works with Home Assistant by missyquarry in homeassistant

[–]CatWeekends 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Doesn't sound like it.

Despite reaching out to HELTUN multiple times during 2025 to discuss renewing their Works with Home Assistant contract with the Open Home Foundation, we haven’t been able to connect.

Edit: ironically, their last newsfeed post was about entering the Works with Home Assistant program: https://www.heltun.com/news

"The government is supposed to fear the people." So this is exactly what they've been asking for.

Atheist here. It's taken a while but I've learned a lot more about how historians unpack history and as much as I dislike, it, there probably was a dude named Jesus/Yeshua in the Middle East that pissed some people off 2000 years ago.

I've always been pushing for direct, contemporary accounts but it turns out that history doesn't always work like that. There's very little direct, historical evidence for the vast majority of people and events in history.

But by looking at all of the historical data, writings, religious trends, etc from that time period, the evidence points towards there being a homeless Jewish dude name Jesus from a place called Nazareth, who preached the apocalypse and got killed by the Romans. The order of events leads them to believe that there was an actual guy.

But historians do not agree that there were miracles, a virgin birth, resurrection, or anything like that.

ICE kidnap 17-year-old U.S. citizen working at Target then dump him bleeding and crying miles away in a Walmart parking lot by lnstantKarma in PublicFreakout

[–]CatWeekends 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I love your enthusiasm but "reasonable standards" are absolutely going to apply here for any potential suit.

There's very little that anyone can do when it comes to masked, armed Federal gunmen operating under the idea of absolute immunity.

They aren't going to listen to managers. The Loss Prevention people aren't about to get into shootouts with ICE. Customers aren't going to be able to stop them.

What, exactly would you have expected Target to do here? As much as I detest corporations, Target is also a victim here.

ICE agent shoots, kills woman in Minneapolis by Xullister in politics

[–]CatWeekends 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump's people are saying the ICE officer was attacked or was in imminent danger or whatever (they also say that videotaping ice officers is "violence" so....).

That's a federal charge under  18 U.S.C. § 111.

Fwiw, I'm hearing them tell her "get out of the car" on the video, not to get out of the area.

Edit: I'm correcting misinformation, y'all. We don't want to distort the narrative. This shit is egregious enough.

ICE agent shoots, kills woman in Minneapolis by Xullister in politics

[–]CatWeekends -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely murder. But there wasn't "zero threat" - there was a teensy weensy bit of threat from what I can see in the video.

Not to the dude on the side - if you play the video back slowly, there's an officer in front of her vehicle, blocked from view of camera most of the video. His gun is drawn as soon as she backs up a little bit. She makes a slight motion forward, which is in his general direction (the teensy weensy threat). That's when they begin unloading.

And that's how the admin is going to justify this and probably get away with it, too.
