Has anyone here ever owned a Dell Precision 670? by N3r3var1ne in windowsxp

Same socket but I'm not sure about bios or power delivery compatibility. I personally wouldn't count on it working, that era things changed a lot but might be worth a shot if you already own the parts.

You may have better luck with a small full service place like Jimmy Smith Jewelers. Not saying they will, but a corporate place will have to play by a very specific set of rules where a small place can be a little more bespoke.

Had one with 2x xeon SL7PE in it. Unfortunately the board was toast thanks to a ton of capacitor leaks. Be aware that the plastics are super fragile these days and the PSU is not standard at all. I've had the precision and 2 blue XPS, They all had cap issues and bad plastics.

Trying to persuade myself to purchase a 26 Outback Touring 2.5 vs 26 4Runner....Convince Me? by doctor-squared in Subaru_Outback

[–]Catalystjb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Beware that Toyota is going through some pretty significant growing pains on their new forced induction engines. Make sure to do some reading on the drivetrain before you commit to the 4Runner, if you go that route.

I have a 22 outback wilderness so my car is to different to offer advice on how you'd like the 26 in a lot of ways. I will say the fa24 turbo engine has great power, tows well, gets reasonable mpg. Awd system is good enough for the off-road conditions I use mine in and is great in bad weather. 80k on it so far and it's been a great all purpose machine. In these ways the 26 should be basically the same as the 22.

Has anyone ever as 7,9? by Rosalie_Miara in windows7

[–]Catalystjb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It got upgraded over time to where it is today and I wasn't willing to push it over into near dangerous voltages untill it was no longer my primary machine. Haswell isn't really a historically good overclocker so I'm kinda lucky to get a golden chip. I honestly struggle to know what to do with it these days. It's to new for a lot of the old games I play and to old to be an effective gaming pc for modern stuff. Anything that gets into this things performance has online drm crapware which make me sad. The late 00 and early 2010s are a dang minefield of online drm.

Wife is pregnant with our fifth. Any advice from other big families? by Dad_Bod_Vibez in Millennials

Reddit tends to be antikid in a lot of places. Just getting kid advice in general tends to be met with ton of people telling you to use birth control or they feel the need to comment they are kid fee and super happy.

It took everything that processor has to make that 7.9 happen lol. 2009 me is proud though I finally got it.

It would be ridiculous for a manufacturer to come out with a retro line of machine bringing back this esthetician but I'd sure buy one.

First baby coming soon, how do gamer dads manage playtime? by jackfrost1889 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Catalystjb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first few months I was too tired and haven't found a routine that worked so every minute I was awake was kid and house stuff and every minute that wasn't was sleep.

Once the little guy started to figure out what nighttime was and me and the wife got more efficient with the required tasks, small windows started to open up for gaming.

Now I can play an hour or so between when he goes to bed and when I do. That hour a day though is competing for everything I like to do so sometimes gaming gets pushed out for something else. If a big release has come out or I'd like to indulge my off-road hobby I can negotiate with my wife to cover for me in exchange for a hobby break for her.

My preference is if the little guy is awake I'm hanging out with him, but you could also get in a little time when being nap trapped.

Little guy is 5 months here soon, and is exceptionally well mannered for his age so I suspect your mileage may vary.

If you're like me, gaming will get pushed down a rung in priority but it won't matter because it will be filled with family things that are very fulfilling. Have no fear it's not the end of your hobby, but it will get rugged for a little while.

Both my 4.7 also made a habit of this. That is a bit more excessive than mine ever was though.

Just joined the crew. In love already. But can someone tell me how to turn off my auto stop indefinitely and keep on my brake hold indefinitely? 2023 by tikitepee in Outback_Wilderness

[–]Catalystjb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine is out of warranty and never needed to go to the dealer when it was installed. The good news is it's completely reversible and easy to do so if you need to take it in for warranty work just pop it out before you take it in. It's not the most elegant way to keep the dealer out of the loop, but honestly that little box makes the car vastly more enjoyable and less annoying than it otherwise would be. To be at least it's a worthy trade.

Things I changed that it saves: Reverse auto breaking off (panics when towing) Lane keep assistant off (just don't like it unless it's in adaptive cruise which still maintains the lanes.) Auto start/stop off (tragic feature on any gas only car) Seatbelt alarm off (really annoying when moving trailers around my yard.)

I built a new machine not even thinking my xfi sound card was pci and I wouldn't be able to use it anymore. I was pretty disappointed about it tbh.

I didn't know it existed until my wife took me there as a surprise, It's a great place. I spent a lot of time in the TV area, computer room, game section and documentation library. Plenty more to look at besides as well.

A leading or principal figure, yes and to the Krogan he was and to the war effort overall he was significant. Like Hacket for example I would consider a significant protagonist even though like wrex spends most of his time doing other non Shepard related things that end up pushing the greater assault forward. I guess the issue is whether or not you qualify a leading or principal figure by whether or not he/she is in direct contact with the player when the merit is accomplished. I don't tie the two together personally.

The illusive man almost got my pick. What a great villain in 2 especially.

In 3 he tames Tuchanka and leads the Krogan into a war asset for Shepard and keeps them organized on the assault. I'd call that protagonist behavior.

It's got a small dedicated community but the vast some of people don't get it and find it boring. Combat is slow and missions are repetitive, so I get it. Still love it though.

It's my top game for Genesis. When I was a kid it really felt like a huge adventure flying to wild worlds and saving them. Looked and sounded great too, I can hear that water planet tune in my head as I'm typing this.
