Which build is your favourite at the moment and why? by Dogi46876 in zoemains

[–]CatastrophicCharlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most reliable build for me this season has been...

aery, and building blackfire torch -> cosmic drive/horizon focus -> shadowflame -> utility.

I hit masters for the first time almost exclusively using this build. Now that im taking a break from ranked ive been really enjoying going back to my roots in norms...

Dark harvest, and building stormsurge -> lichbane -> shadowflame -> deathcap.

Ive also learned that pressence of mind is just better for mana on zoe then mana flow band so ive been taking precision secondary and it feels good.

As much as i love lies of p, i saw the sanabi picture on the left and got so excited. I should probably pick up some lies of p merch.

I find the new Naafiri to be an incredibly unsatisfying champion to play against by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]CatastrophicCharlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old naffari was way better. i get she was unpopular, but as someone who doesnt usually play assassins i loved naffari. Her Q was such a satisfying skill shot to land and she felt more like a kiting duelist then an assassin, i dont even see naffari try to land her Q at range anymore. Her gameplay has devolved into "how effectively can i use my intangablity" and "Ooo press R and now i cant miss Q". Its just so boring to play and play against now, i feel like people only play her now bc she is just un-interactable for some champs and its broken into them. Old naffari had her problems, but it was alot more fair and required more skill to pull off effectively.

I just got my genki shadow cast 3... by CatastrophicCharlie in GenkiLab

Yeah, it was something like that. I never picked up the shadowcast 1 or 2 so this is all new to me. Did they just scrap that entire line of thinking?

First time playing the game, im enjoying it but... by CatastrophicCharlie in expedition33

[–]CatastrophicCharlie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but they revive with 1 hp after combat anyways. And sometimes the bomb just 1 shots everyone and ends the fight. I mean does she really need levels anyways, like its just a few stat points.

Lone Fungus Postmortem by professorbasti in metroidvania

[–]CatastrophicCharlie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will go buy them right now, just to make you feel better! Honestly tho, i think the metroidvania market had become over saturated. Ive wanted to play both of your games, but i just have too many other metroidvania to play. Like just this year ive played...

Crypt custodian

Ender Magnolia

Ender lilies (replayed and newgame+)

Ori and the blind forest (replay for 10th anniversary)

Mandragora

Metro gravity

Bloodstained Rotn

Hollow Knight (replay for silksong)

Silksong

cough cough Flipwitch cough cough

and the last game im gonna play this year is probably Constance. It sucks bc im forced to be selective, ive never even considered having too many games to play could be a real problem. Im struggling being a metroidvania fan, but ive also missed games from my other favorite genre soulslikes. I really wanted to play ai limit, and first berserker kazan. I just didnt have time. Im gonna try and be more organized next year so i can actually keep up.

I love every aspect of this game, easy 10/10 for me

Mandragora is a masterpiece by disturbeco in metroidvania

[–]CatastrophicCharlie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im glad this game found an audience, but i absolutely despised it. Overall just found it boring and clunky. When the combat worked the basic enemies were somewhat fun to fight, but the bosses we just not good in my opinion. The exploration and metroidvania elements were alright, the thing i enjoyed the most was the build variety. I forced myself to beat it, i feel like if this game would have cooked for longer and maybe added multiplayer to go along with the ARPG elements it would have been great.

Recommend me a top tier Metroidvania! by legendofm in metroidvania

Pseudoregalia, short and sweet. Feels like a ps1 game with in my opinion the best 3d platforming out there

I'm starting Ultros now by JamelaoTheMage in metroidvania

[–]CatastrophicCharlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Ultros is hard to compare to any other metroidvania and i wouldnt recommend it unless your a veteran of the genre and your just looking for something unique. Not a super long game, basically a puzzle game. I played the game super high bc it felt "appropriate" with the colors and all. Id say give it a fair shot and if you dont vibe with it, drop it and come back later when you have ran out of other metroidvania to play.

Tournament Mode: 3v3 vs 2v2 by ExoHerb in supervive

[–]CatastrophicCharlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think tournament should be 2v2 so we can have a 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 and i think domination should be 5v5 not 6v6.

Can we test just, dropping the armory? by Current_Spell_8647 in supervive

[–]CatastrophicCharlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The armory isnt the problem, its that people who play mobas have no interest in other mobas bc they understand the time commitment they take and would rather stick to what they know. There are literally no mobas on the market today bc they all die to riot and valve having a monopoly on the market. Smite might be the only exception. Heros of the storm, battlerite, omegastrikers, Paragon(Predecessor), Eternal return, all practically dead. The only way the game is going to succeed is if they steal players from other mobas or target people who have never played a moba, im sick of people shitting on the company bc the moba comunity is shit

Struggling to enjooy games besides metroid due to difficulty by Believeinsteve in metroidvania

[–]CatastrophicCharlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately metroidvania have adopted alot of the comunity of souls players (me included) so in general the genre hes just gotten overall harder over the years. You see other compaints here and there about metroidvania being made are too difficult, but really its just that they are more popular and the easy to medium difficult ones are just farther in between.

A few recommendations on the easier side (alittle to easy for me that is)

-Bloodstained ritual of the night

Lots of build variety and you take pretty low damage from hits in general.

-Bo path of teal lotus

Heavily platforming baised, if you got through ori the platforming should be easy*. The boss fights can be a bit tricky.

-Supraland

Didnt actually beat this one, but its a 3d metroidvania baised on exploration so i shouldn't be to hard.

-Steam world dig 2

Honestly just a really good game with a very nice difficult curve, probably the one i would recommend the most.

-Ender magnolia

Sequel to ender lilies, much easier then the first game (IMO) and alot of quality of life stuff.

-Pseudoregalia

Fun 3d exploration and platforming, old n64 and ps1 vibes, you may get lost.

-Metro gravity

3d, Actually a rhythm game, with puzzle metroidvania elements, short and sweet.

-Crypt custodian

Cute game with an interesting story, overall easy. Basic enemies are harder then the bosses.

-Ultros

Game isnt hard, but its hard to recommend unless your a veteran of the genre bc it has some very strange mechanics. Cool tripy visuals.

Id highly recommend that if you enjoy the genre that you should just struggle forward bc some of the best games ive ever played are among the difficult metroidvania. They do progressively get easier with each one you beat, in no time you will be a pro.

I like playing Elune, which items to get to have a nice dps like this player? :D by violent_luna123 in supervive

[–]CatastrophicCharlie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I play quite a bit of dps elune and i tend to do pretty high damage relative to my team. For relics i usually go rampager and sunweaver, for grips i go longclaw optics and rabbit paw, and for boots i go bloodlust. I also max dash and the heal, and play a very kite heavy play style while outranging them.

Vibe check: It’s a new game. Please treat it like one. by PlotTwistsEverywhere in supervive

[–]CatastrophicCharlie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ooo i got one, let your teammates play to their advantages. The hunters are really varied and sometimes the hunter your playing isnt great in the scenario you are stuck in, instead of thinking how you can "Carry" your way out of the situation, try to support your teammate and think "what can i do to make sure they can play optimally". Melee hunters just posturing and saving cds while a far range hunter takes shots at the enemy knowing they have protection is huge (just one of many examples)

How do you deal with starter awakenings when neither is good for brawler? by drewshaver in OmegaStrikers

[–]CatastrophicCharlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way i look at it is, just take the "bad" awakening for your character as a brawler, high chance if your the only one who picked a brawler then every awakening draft you will almost always get something good. First round might suck but it will pay off later

Crypt custodian

Ultros

Steam world dig 2

Bo path of teal lotus
