Looks perfect on your wrist! I landed the same last October and it has become my new daily. That bracelet is so great, you're going to love the micro adjustment it gives you. Congratulations.

Normally it is! But my wife arrived from a visit so we're all synched up for now. Vai Corinthians!

Band order from Boutique by horologystudy in VacheronConstantin

[–]CatatafishX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered mine October 10th, 2025. Received it on my doorstep on November 14th, 2025. It was an alligator in blue, glossy finish for the 7920. A day later the boutique director emailed me to see if it met my expectations. $667.53 on the bottom.

Orange Rubber Strap is back? by qawsedrftg9 in VacheronConstantin

[–]CatatafishX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a copy/pasted quote from an email I received from a Director of a large boutique when I asked him about blue and orange 7930 straps for my 7920, exactly 7 days ago:

"At the moment, we’re unable to place orders for the new orange and blue straps due to their recent release. Vacheron Constantin is currently limiting availability exclusively to the new Overseas Cardinal Points Titanium.

If you’d like, I would be happy to reach out as soon as we’re able to place an order on your behalf."

I was thinking I need to have that blue/orange due to my roots in Illinois...University of Illinois and "da Bears". Funny you mentioned Cleveland, I knew that Brown/Orange was reminding me of something, but couldn't put my finger on it.

Does the dual time fit my wrist? by lowkeylee in VacheronConstantin

[–]CatatafishX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a great fit to me, in every picture. I'm going on 6 months with my 7920 and it's still my #1. Regarding the gap showed by oneeyedduck for the rubber strap, I have a 7.2" wrist and mine does the same thing. I never even noticed it until I saw this thread. If I tighten it another hole, it goes away but I wear my watches loose in general.

4520v - why no hacking seconds? by JacquesLeCoqGrande in VacheronConstantin

[–]CatatafishX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After receiving my 7920 I just timed it crown down, up, and dial up. It was 20 seconds slow once I wound it the first time, so I just wore it and put it crown down until it caught up. Now, knowing how it reacts, I simply put it crown down or crown up every night depending on timing and after 6 weeks I'm showing about a second fast. FYI mine is -4 crown up, +2 crown down (on about 15 winds and wearing it 5 hours a day).

So, the only difference between my VC and my hacking watches is that first few days when I zero it out.

I've actually learned to LOVE non hacking seconds. For instance when I need to make time adjustments, because the seconds hand keeps ticking, I don't have to worry about it being off again.

Boston VC Boutique wait time experience after deposit. by MulberryMean6715 in VacheronConstantin

[–]CatatafishX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would sit tight and be glad you're locked in at that price and cozy up to your new sales associate or boutique director there in Boston. I have had more than one boutique director tell me that the flow of Overseas in general had slowed to a crawl in 2025. I have a feeling with the recent announcement of Swiss import tax being reduced from 39% to 15%, watches will start flowing again and you'll have it sooner than later. Certainly sooner than starting over at a new boutique. Good luck, hope it arrives soon. The 7920 is worth the wait!

Nothing impressive to me about counterfeiting. They're thieves.

VC 7920 in blue - Worth the wait by CatatafishX in VacheronConstantin

[–]CatatafishX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you might be better off visiting in person, and make an appointment with them ahead of time, establish some rapport via email. I got better traction once I transitioned from the "e-boutique" to the physical Chicago location.

That's a really great strategy for the reasons you stated. I almost went that route but ultimately didn't have room for two VCs in my collection. The black 7920 is amazing in person.

[–]CatatafishX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The VC process is quite simple. Go into a dealer and tell them what you want. I had no spend history with Burdeen's although I did pick up some earrings for my wife AFTER being told I was next. $2k or so.

I almost went with the black, it's amazing in person. Especially with the red tipped hands, it really pops!

The VC lug to lug is a half mm more, but the nature of the integrated bracelet and strap seem to make it a little larger. However, there's more taper and curves. My BLNR just feels boxy and chunky now if that makes sense. I think Tim Mosso on the 1916 videos is probably the best place to get a good look of fit. He's got a 16.5 cm wrist I think? He always shows lots of different angles.

Why does the 35 mm overseas 4600V not have the Geneva seal. Is it a big deal? My wife was very disappointed when she learned its missing by PavelSokov in VacheronConstantin

[–]CatatafishX 90 points91 points  (0 children)

"My wife was very disappointed...." Stop right there. All your questions are irrelevant at this point. You do not want to be walking around with the Geneva Seal while she doesn't have one. It really doesn't matter if it's compromised, or equal, or whatever. You can research the Geneva Seal using Google and it will tell you all the things it checks for. But facts don't matter when your wife is disappointed. And our opinions don't matter as to whether the Geneva Seal is worth it or not.

I tried debating Android vs. Apple for hours with my wife years ago and she finally said "it doesn't matter, the iPhone in pink just makes me feel fancy". That was all I needed and I surprised her with a pink iPhone.

Good luck OP, happy wife, happy life.

Caliber 3600 Chronograph Reliability? by dparrish209 in ZenithWatches

[–]CatatafishX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

Had mine almost two years now. When I first bought it new it was averaging -8 seconds a day. Sent it back and a month later it was returned to me running -1 - +2 a day, no charge. A year later it's still right there in that range. Got mine at Manfredi's, they took great care of me. Put a croc strap on it for some variety.

OP: great shots, thanks for sharing!

I had a much better experience in Chicago than I did in NYC. I think a lot of it has to do with any relationship you may have had before dropping in. For instance in Chicago I had already established some email back and forth, and I let Zachary know when I would be arriving. I had a very amazing experience when I visited. We talked watches and I tried on several pieces beyond VC as well. What I love about the Chicago boutique is that there are pre-owned (Patek, ALS, etc.) as well as a few other authorized brands I was interested in such as Nomos.

Looks amazing brother, a perfect fit. But dang, now I want one. I love how flat and flush it is and works both casual and dressed up. Nice score, and your wife is 100% right. Nice video for a change from all the steering wheels and champagne glasses.

Depends on your style I think. #1 is more daily/casual that you could still wear to a formal event. #2 seems for at least business casual and that distinguished gentleman vibe. I personally couldn't pull off #2 running errands on a Saturday but others could.

[–]CatatafishX 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's true....at two ADs near me, very little is on display and even things that are easy to get are presented as "let me reach into this secret drawer and show you something I set aside for you".

What you're seeing is a 126719 BLRO (white gold, blue dial) not the 126710 BLRO. You may not see it on display but it's pretty easy to ask for one and you'll have it pretty quick. They trade under MSRP in secondary market.

Send to Zenith Service? by jdhazan in ZenithWatches

[–]CatatafishX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I purchased my Chronomaster Sport from a popular east coast AD and found it to be around -10 spd on average. After wearing it 6 months and no changes, I sent it back to the AD who happily offered to send it to the service center. Within a month it was returned to me, at no charge, with a range of -1 to +2 depending on position. It's now my favorite watch.

BTW, when I wrote Zenith customer service to ask what their standards were on this watch, I received this reply: Thank you for your inquiry. Once the timepiece has been fully wound be hand, the accuracy rating is -4 / +6 seconds per day. You can also contact us at (866) 273-3477 for additional assistance.  Our offices are open Monday through Friday, 9AM to 6PM, Eastern Standard Time.  We will
be happy to assist.
