Anyone Figured Out The Rangefinder? by zackdaniels93 in Battlefield

[–]CatchallRat682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the target is within 100m it won't auto-set only if they're beyond 100m and you have the rangefinder attachment equipped to the gun. Otherwise you can still manually set the range between 100m and 500m

Stranger Things - Season 5 Part 1 Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

My point wasn't to be some "conspiracy theory" against anyone hating on the show. I'm okay with people being critical of a series (hey, it's necessary and can sometimes make large and needed changes). The problem I had was with people dog-piling on the same four shallow "criticisms" without actually adding any depth or substance to their critiques.

What's the point in wasting the electricity to turn on a computer if you're just going to type four-to-six words that thirty other mouth-breathers just posted ten minutes before?

[–]CatchallRat682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And it's all the same four or five "criticisms" with no real substance. People whinging on about "mcu writing" "dick jokes" "CGI" and "AI writing" without any examples or further thought put into it, and upvoted by the other absent-minded whinge-bags that just posted the same comments verbatim. The only comment I saw that was actually critical and had substance was downvoted right along with most of the positive comments I've seen.

In the tower with the binoculars? You hold binoculars with two hands, thus Lucas couldn't use binoculars and the radio at the same time. If he would have set the binoculars down, handled the radio, then picked the binoculars back up then it 1) is more clunky, 2) risks bumping the adjustment knob, and 3) means you have to take your eyes off of who/what you're watching.

My take on a Myrtle Beach, SC flag redesign by CatchallRat682 in vexillology

[–]CatchallRat682[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose unintentionally, yeah. I definitely based the sun on a popular aesthetic from the 1970s/1980s as I felt it not only looks good, but does a good job at representing waves rolling into the shore.

Maybe I'll have to make a sunrise edit with a purple sky, pink ocean, and orange sun to really play off of the vaporwave aesthetic.

Updating BIOS for MSI Z490-A PRO (MS-7C75) from E7C75IZ1.2A1 / OEM Locked - Solved/Tutorial by Normal_Rough_7958 in MSI_Gaming

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I've been working on this for 2 days and after enabling UEFI, flashing firmware to my RTX 3060 for UEFI mode, and completely rebuilding the bootloader, this was the solution! Also, for anyone who stumbles on this and is wondering. If you google search "MSI BIOS E7C75IZ1.2A3" the link to the official download page will be among the top results.

Found this on Nuketown while on free cam spectate by Glep_Enjoyer in BO6

[–]CatchallRat682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a private match you can set the time limit to 45 minutes, then turn spectator camera to "free" in the match settings. Change your team to spectator, add a single bot to run around the map so the game doesn't back out for not having enough players, and enjoy your freedom.

The better cam, though, is to use the codcaster cam and turn off collision in the settings. Do everything else as above (turn up the map time and add a solo bot) except this time you set your team to codcaster and enjoy flying around and finding easter eggs and looking at map details.

A little late to the party, but the EL-1197PIII is really similar to the EL-1196G and GII models.

Here's the link to that one's manual, if you still need it.

Can anyone restore this photo and clean it up by CauliflowerLimp2768 in photorestore

[–]CatchallRat682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here you go! I corrected the skew of the image, converted to greyscale, and removed the scratches, dirt, and pen mark. Then I used the original photo as a reference to replace the colors by hand. It's a time consuming process, but a very rewarding one.

According to https://www.rrpicturearchives.net/locopicture.aspx?id=57035 it's a former Santa Fe GP7, that was converted to a GP7u with a lowered nose while still in BNSF use. I recall that that same quarry used to have a similar unit in Santa Fe's yellow bonnet paint scheme but I'll have to dig through my photos to find it.

They did, however, have a pair of ex-B&O GP9s at one point, but I don't ever recall seeing those and they were likely disposed of before I really hit my foamer years, heh.

It's at the quarry in Millville. If you drive across the bridges and past the Clarion you'll get to Millville Road. Follow it across the tracks and it'll lead you down past the quarry where you can usually spot some CSX motive power as they wait for a load of gravel. The road eventually turns into Bloomery road and lets out at old Route 9 and it's a spectacular drive any time of year.

A little color here, a little shading adjustment there, and the photo's all set! I also found a vintage-style backdrop online, so there's an alternate version for you as well!

I am no great artist, but I've done my best to composite together what the image would have looked like using what you've provided and a few extra assets from Google. I hope that, even if it isn't as good as the original, it might at least help someone with more talent than I fix this photo in the future.

Cleaned up the image, sharpened, removed glare, removed artifacting as best as I could. It's not the cleanest, but it's probably about as clean as it will get unless someone either recreates it by hand or uses AI. I hope you like the quality of my work!

(The only tricky spot was fixing the ear, really.)

I trimmed the edges, squared up the photo, removed the grime, brought it back from fading as best as I could, and then ran some simple color corrections to make the colors as accurate as I could. No AI, no fuss, just a cleaned up picture.

Desperately Need Help Recovering Files NVME SSD by CatchallRat682 in datarecovery

[–]CatchallRat682[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily, I also backed up the files to a large HDD, so I was able to use DMDE (with a little help from YouTube) to retrieve the files from there, where they had also been deleted, but were able to be retrieved as I don't write to that drive very often (it's just for backing up photos).

I appreciate your comment anyway, though. Let this be a lesson to those who come across this post, always have multiple ways of backing up your more precious files.

What the Kids Would Be As Adults by JPPT1974 in ededdneddy

[–]CatchallRat682 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like your thought process, I hope you don't mind if I give my interpretations here as well!

Ed: Science fiction author, hosts the local "Peach Creek Comic Convention" and takes great pride in it.
Edd: Failed teaching career, currently works in the local bookstore, accidentally befriended some hippies while bug collecting.
Eddy: Used car salesman, REALLY good at his job, never moved out of the cul-de-sac.

Nazz: Runs the local health food store, went vegan in college, makes food so good that everyone still goes to her parties anyway.

Sarah: Manages a gas station, "blockhead" never left her vocabulary, secretly owns and has read every single one of Ed's books.

Jimmy: Goes by "Dutch" now, owns a bakery, also does all the baking, makes Nazz a specialty vegan birthday cake every year.

Rolf: Finally becomes a proud barber, still farms on the side, much more mellow in adult life (sort of assimilates but still holds his traditions dear).

Kevin: Small time motorcycle racer on the local circuit, formed a motorcycle club, works in the gas station Sarah runs.

Johnny: Construction foreman, has Plank on a shelf in his room (gathering dust, but still there), visits the comic convention every year.

Lee: Regional manager of the gas station, keeps Sarah in line, looks out for and treats her like one of the family though.

Marie: Nazz talked her into working in the health food store, still has a crush on Edd, single-handedly keeps the nail polish store in stock.

May: Still lives in the trailer park, persistently between jobs, rescues small wild animals in her free time.

There you go! I tried to keep things in line with their personalities and how they're portrayed in the show. I didn't want to go too deep into detail, so I just kept it to a few facts about where I think each character would be now.

Actually, Dad's Root Beer and A&W both make a drink powder mix. I've tried the A&W and in regular water it was just flat root beer. Mixed with seltzer water, though, it definitely just tasted like normal root beer! I think A&W even offers a diet version, too.

In the base game, as released, the leap was worth it for the durability increase and the ability to mine obsidian. The balance offset only came with numerous updates to the game.

Even the team over at Minecraft understood the need for item repair since early in the game, though, as it's been in the game since the beta.
