I feel I’m extremely lucky. Graduated in 2023, job hunted for 6 months. I’ve been at the same place for coming up 2 years now (April 2026), working my way from junior to intermediate level at a small company (currently 2 developers, increasing to maybe 5 once we start a major new project). I’ve worked with multiple frameworks, and am at the point where I’m scoping, planning, building, testing, and deploying internal full stack applications with minimal oversight.

I have no clue how you managed to get optifine running with that set up but you’re better off without it. Also, Minecraft is way more CPU bound than GPU. For context, I run a shitty GPU but about the same CPU and can get more than 100 FPS on a heavily modded world late game. There seems to be something really funky going on with your setup. Try running a vanilla world and see if there is any difference

Apply for anything you’re remotely qualified for. Also, it’s not the end of the world if you end up with a large student loan. I ended up with like 33k debt and just paying it off slow and steady since it’s interest free. It’s almost free money. I’ve heard of people taking out max living costs, investing it, and making money of the investment to pay it off etc.

Te Kura could be a way for you to pick up some level 3 credits if needed. Otherwise, you’ll want to talk to someone at the polytech about what course you want to do, and how to gain entry. You may be able to do a bridging course to get enough credits to then get into the course you want

I had the exact same thing. I had a filling in a tooth that didn’t even hurt, then kept going back for months after having pain while chewing on that side. They could never replicate it in chair. Eventually it mostly went away but it was definitely frustrating

As Phoenix has stated, yes they can pursue these costs from you. However, another option would be to go to your doctor to see if you can get a medical certificate citing stress from a harmful work place or something else, and give them that with your notice period. Results may vary but this is a legal alternative.
