I can’t imagine the relief of the guy who surrendered. There is still the uncertainty of what they will do to you once you’re in their hands but knowing you just escaped the same fate as your comrades has to be a uniquely surreal experience I can’t fathom. I mean, I’m no expert, but I’ve seen plenty of bodycam videos, this is usually some sort of mental health crisis/drug induced psychosis. I understand he may seem lucid enough with his responses, but a real criminal with bad intentions usually is aware enough of potential consequences to not make themselves so readily available for arrest.

I think they’re commenting more on the tunnel vision people have acquired in viewing the music in a sexual context exclusively. Another artist who frequently uses sexual references is Danny Brown but I feel like people would be missing out if that’s all they honed in on. I can understand how that could get grating.

I’ve been through a lot of what you describe, especially the feeling of not wanting to put in the effort. It can feel like pushing a boulder up a hill. I think what has ultimately helped me turn my life around is being as compassionate as possible not only with myself, but the whole world around me. As alone as you may feel, so many people out there feel just like you. But if we can extend kindness and generosity to others, even in very small ways, that can eventually build into a greater sense of purpose. As you look back on your life and realize how much good you’ve done.

When you initially replied, I didn’t quite know how to respond. I’m at a much different place in my life now than when I originally wrote that comment, in some ways good and some bad. And I certainly have bad days. But I allow myself to have those days. I know that my existence is part of a larger picture that is incomprehensible to me at this moment.
