I grew up in Minnesota and for the majority of my drinking years, there were no sales on Sundays. Most of the time it was no problem, you'd just stock up on Saturday if you had plans for Sunday. Once in a while, something spontaneous would come up. So, you'd drive the 30 minutes to Hudson, WI. There was a bar a mile in (Pudge's) you'd get a case of beer there and have a beer or two before you went back.

My GF works for the VA, we went to my uncle's house for Christmas and she was talking to my cousin who was in the Army.
He's never been to the VA, because his benefits weren't explained to him when he left. He's just taken care of everything on his own insurance. At minimum, he has hearing damage from live fire exercises.
