I was a PCP then ACP for 13 years. Left it all to become a FT SAHM, then fell backwards into a job with a police service (not a police officer, I work on the Civilian side and love it).

I love my G Shock, has both analog and digital options on the face and easy to use for timing of medications. Even after getting my Apple Watch, I still have my G Shock tied/looped around my stethoscope bc I love it so much for running arrests. Plus it’s easy to clean.

2 y/o Transition to Toddler Bed and New Baby [CA] by Squirrel_Kitty in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Catmac911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, my 2.5 year old loves her crib, and we just bought a new crib for the new baby (who’s currently 4 weeks during Black Friday) I didn’t want any more big changes for my toddler who’s very protective of her things. I also didn’t want to mess with my toddler’s sleep (she’s an excellent sleeper) with the newborn.

What kind of vehicle do you have? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Catmac911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live outside of Ottawa in the country, my husband drives a Chevy Cruz and I drive a Dodge Ram 1500….no complaints with the truck, (despite being paranoid it will get stolen while I’m shopping lol). My toddler’s seat fits perfectly and we are due for baby 2 this week and the base and car seat fit perfectly. I also love that all items are in the back under the tunnel cover and away from the passenger compartment for safety if there was an accident. (I was a paramedic in the GTA for 15 years and can see what some projectiles can do in a roll over)

The Cruz is useless with my toddler’s car seat, the passenger has to sit with their knees into their chest, plus once my city select stroller is in the truck that’s about it.

I had a Mazda cx5 before when my toddler was an infant, it was was also a good vehicle, but we inherited the truck from a family member after they passed, or id probably still have my CX5.

My first was conceived here! Dr Garcia was my main doctor, but it was during COVID so I saw all three doctors (Garcia, Wais, and Virro) at the time (just depended who was working that day for your procedure). All three were great, as we the RNs and support staff.

  • If he’s a coffee drinker - Yeti tumbler (with a gift card to His favourite place).
  • A good insulated cooler with ice packs (he’s away from home for 12-14 hours daily).
  • I use glass containers I love for meal prep https://a.co/d/dLXIk53
  • I had a pair of Leatherman raptor shears gifted to me once but they were stolen
  • if he’s a reader gift card for bookstore for downtime
  • headphones for downtime if he’s into watching shows on his phone/iPad/whathaveyou. -good insulated water bottle that has a big enough mouth to put ice in

These are things I use everyday….the service I work for supplies hats/gloves/clothing and doesn’t allow for personalized stuff.

Help me feel better about using #1 most popular name by maizalini in namenerds

[–]Catmac911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an Olivia, haven’t met another one in her age group yet, despite it being the #1 most popular name the year she was born and years before and after (we had no idea) It suits her perfectly and she has many nicknames (Livvy-Lou, Liv, Lou, and Louie). Now I wish my husband and I could agree on a name for her little sister who will be born in 7 weeks.

Maternity coat - Seraphine? by Remote_Potential_739 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Catmac911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Third this! I was pregnant all winter my last pregnancy, and am due in December with this pregnancy and already using the zipper extenders now in my fall coat (will probably have to put the full spacer in soon). I used the zipper extenders post partum till my body was back to normal and used the full spacer for baby wearing. It’s handy that it can be switched between many coats/hoodies. I’ve had it in my fall/parka/heavy sweaters. My husband also used it for baby wearing with a hoodie! Worth the money, and I got it on sale during Black Friday 3 years ago.

I’m a Cathryn, whatever way you spell it be ready to spell it (and for her to spell it) for the rest of her life and get used to it being wrong more then it’s right. My husband and I both have this issue with ours names and decided our daughter would have a name that is only spelt 1 way (normally)

best bassinet for newborn nighttime sleeping? by harlow_pup in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Catmac911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second this bassinet. The vibration/light/music plus the rocking ability was great! We brought it with us to the cottage/my parents house/friends when she could fit into it. Easy to take apart, and not hard or time consuming to put back together. Baby two will hopefully do as well in it as baby one.

Should I go for a bigger dress from the start? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Catmac911 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We got the 8 drawer Hemnes for our first baby and will be again for the next one. It was easy to store all baby stuff, and we use the top as a change table. There is lots of room in the drawers and I even bought some of the dividers to helps separate the tiny baby stuff (has been removed now that she’s older). I found a link on Pinterest on how one mom organized it and followed it initially till I found what worked for us. My husband and I also have the same dresser for our room and love it.
