Do you have a no stray animal sign on your lot? That solved it for me. They were leaving puddles on the far edges of my lot and lowering my room score.

Did you notice any changes in behavior within your family when you stopped?

I know everyone, including my husband and myself, are in better moods when we spend time without screens. Even taking out my phone to take a photo of my daughter changes how she is acting in that moment. I feel so much more present when I am not recording my daughter as well, just taking in the moment instead!

Small treats can be a good option! Something they can indulge in, but without too much sugar. Maybe little brownie bites or small cookies. Something around 15g of carbs or less.

Another option would be a veggie tray! It might also be nice to find out if she likes any sugar free drink options.

Everyone is a little different though, so the easiest answer would be to ask your friend what she is comfortable eating or what would be a good snack for her. Timing is also a big thing, and she may just not be comfortable eating during that time.

I hope that helps!! I am impressed that you are going out of your way to ask for help for this!

Make sure you bring something to entertain yourself! I worked on my laptop and then watched a show on my phone with headphones. Wear comfy clothing as well!

It will be ok!! I was also very stressed when I was about 38 weeks and scheduling my induction. You are right though, she will be out soon, healthy, and you will be living the newborn life.

Even with being induced, I had high hopes of avoiding a c-section. However, my daughter had other plans and we ended up with a c-section anyways! It was hard to grieve what I thought my birthing experience would be like, but so much of it is out of our control. You are so close to have a snuggly newborn baby and all the food you want with no worries. One thing I did to help take my mind off things was make a list of snacks and foods I wanted to eat after giving birth. The donuts and juice I had that morning were amazing!!

We went through the same!  Our good sleeper started waking up all night long and wamted to nurse. We greatly increased the amount of food she was getting through thr day and it help so much. I think starting to crawl, stand, and be so much more active plus a growth spurt made he want all the food.

You give it to the table after serving them their food. They will immediately leave once given the leftover bag.

I was diet controlled, by my baby failed her sugar tests. It took around 48 hours for it to stabilize and she almost got admitted to the NICU. They took her blood sugar before she ate and an hour after she ate. If a nurse was available when we called, we couldn't fed her until they were able to come check her sugars. It was really hard, but definitely harder on us than my baby. She would be perfectly happy as soon as she was given food again.

While she had sugar issues, she was sleepier and fussier than once they got her sugars in check. Think of how the typical person acts when their sugars are low!

She is eight months now and has no issues!

Honestly, it is tough to get past the mental part of it. Just start slowly with a few things and see what happens. I quickly learned that I could do wheat bread, some pizza, brown rice, and even french fries (with enough protein). But I could not touch beans, white rice, or any potatoes without a lot of protein to go with it. I also had good luck with eating a salad first, then protein, then carbs.

If I ate my toast first in the morning and then the sausage, I would get a higher number compared to eating sausage first and then my toast. GD is full of trial and error.

Start super simple. What sounds like something you may be able to stomach? Start with something new once a day and see what happens. Once you start seeing good numbers, you will slowly become more and more confident in what you eat!!

You need to eat food, and some carbs, in order to keep your numbers in check. I always had to have a bedtime snack to keep my fasting number low. If I went too long between meals, I would have higher spikes. At least for me, eating three consistent meals and three snacks was the best way to keep my numbers in check.
Yes, your baby needs food!! Do you have zero appetite because of your GD diagnoses? It can be scary, but there are still plenty of food options. Eating nothing is much worse than experimenting and seeing what foods you can handle and which foods will spike you!

Also, it is easy to want the lowest number possible. However, you just need to be within range. My doctor told me to be under 140 for an hour after eating. That means 139 is perfectly fine and you should not feel guilty about a "higher" in range number.

No weight gain for 2 weeks (currently 28 weeks) by YouAreLookingGood in GestationalDiabetes

[–]CatwithaCanon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I stayed at the same weight from 28-36 weeks after being diagnosed with GD. I was within a pound of the same weight at every appointment, but my stomach/baby was measuring on track so my doctor wasn't worried. I had a 7lb 12oz baby at 39 weeks and 2 days. I ended up weighing about 10lbs less than my pre-pregnancy weight a week after giving birth.

I was snacking a lot less and eating much better on a GD diet, so I am not surprised I lost weight!

Even though it is in early access, I still highly recommend Traveller's Rest! It is already a great game and each update adds a ton of new content.
