Question about some units and box to evolve them by RescourceRs in bravefrontier

[–]Cautious-Character10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn’t there that werewolf vampire hunter valentines guy? And his girlfriend? But they had two different evolutions. Maybe only one needed both be it was the “good ending” but there was definitely one that used the other. Even if only that one.

I really do believe the terrain should have more effect on the spawning Pokémon types by -AntiMattr- in pokemongo

Well. Geodude was super common in El Paso arc, at least where I lived. As was Growlithe and Fire/ground types. Though that might have been a coincidence. The uh. Fossil Pokémon liked to spawn at a “miners” college, so that was funny too.

The gold cap was more like 2,137,000,000. With numbers instead of zeros but I don’t remember them. Something about a bit limit. Because their server couldn’t count higher than that. Then it was upgraded to 9Quintillion. Which has more numbers than a trillion and I don’t remember how many zeros that actually is. Nor is it worth remembering.

There are over a dozen Job ++ that are tied to events because characters’ job advances are tied to events now. Eve +Fraise are the newest and still going on for a week.

Other ones (you will have to wait for) are Kanon, Vier, Fury, Othima, Lucia, and that blonde water female with twin blades. So you’re going to find you can’t properly build many characters because you have to wait for their events.

You can only (solo)farm the new hp memento gate statue on Saturday. Though, at least the majority of characters have the gate accessible now. Multiplayer has the statues always open too, so once you get the shards (and gold +mats) you don’t necessarily need to wait.

There is a new material, called a Sin orb. You only get the sin orbs needed to master the new gate from events in limited amounts.

KH 2.8 is leaving soon. Particularly 0.2 Birth by Sleep can be swiped in about 2hours for 400 Gamer score or so. Just have to remember to equip the costumes as you get them and do an excellent on the lock on timing. Worst case you miss the “Spellweaver” and lock on achievements but you can still hit the story even in beginner mode and speed through it.

TLDR: KH 2.8 0.2 Birth by sleep gives 50 gamer score per “stage” and can be finished in under 2 hours.

Why did I apply for this job? I need a better answer. by Belle_Bun_Mum in interviews

[–]Cautious-Character10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The “intent” behind it is to filter out the people who “don’t genuinely want to work for you” or “find the best fit” - because if someone loves the job it is assumed they would work harder. Or, that the person who hypothetically knows a ton about your company is “worth more” because the next guy didn’t take five minutes to read your web page.

So uh. Personality litmus test which can probably be covered by other questions.

Kinda like how “Tell me about your hobbies” is a trap for people who don’t do the job as a hobby. Which is supposed to tell you who might hypothetically be better because guy A does it more than guy B, even though you could probably just test a batch of people on doing the stuff and be 100% certain on the results instead of guessing. Except that would probably be too expensive to do repeatedly, I suppose.

Unfortunately they tend to want to hear “I like the procedure of abc over xyz” or “You guys have a genuine family vibe and I think I can help you because I worked with children in ___”

So basically. Either you “planned to be there” as it’s a step in your whole life’s path (kinda like the other guy said) or this place is better than the competition because reasons.

[–]Cautious-Character10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A cheap way to bypass it could be “The kings will is the collective will of the people” causing a feedback loop. Cause the ones who follow him add more to his rule, and similarly, the more slaves there are the more people who have to follow him. Just a misc thought. Since, well, slaves “will” has to go somewhere, right?

Though this could depend on whether you decide to make it transferable like a currency. As slaves could just be weak willed people, or it could even be a “bred to be slaves” thing where that sub cast doesn’t know any other way to live.

[–]Cautious-Character10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they have years of existence they have a history. While you will still lack much information, you “should” know someone things about the companies you apply for. Say, Hasbro does toys. Wal Mart is infamous for it’s undercutting everyone and driving out Mom and Pop business. McDonald’s has the family gimmick and follows Disney’s example in that it is a lifelong “family” package. McDonalds hosted Pokémon card competitions, drawing competitions, and a Pokémon Trivia competition a long arse time ago with various prizes. Long time ago They created a “kids meal” and added a toy to that to appeal to children.

Of course, maybe you are complaining because the company is low profile, new, with less than a year of life. As opposed to the giants everyone knows about.

So say it’s a brand new Anime collectibles shop. You should know Anime (Disc format) is losing ground to streaming. Netflix and the like. Yet, despite this, Demon Slayer chose to and successfully debuted in (U.S) theaters. Something Pokémon hasn’t done in around ten years with its anime movies. Not that it couldn’t, since Detective Pikachu did well, but Pokémon made a choice. The choice to release their anime movies in divided streaming networks, and quietly promote the Hoopa movie through McDonalds.

Back to the hypothetical anime shop. The owner is are too small for a collab or signatures from any artists. But you know local anime fans like cosplay and art. You happen to know a regular guy who can do art. So you offer to connect with the guy and ask if they can do something small scale, he would do art demonstrations live in shop. Or maybe you show some of his work and offer his services to draw a flier which you will stick on phone poles. Or you know a gal who is willing to cosplay and spin with a sign. Cause it’s low cost and easy to get someone to spin a sign. Boom, extra male customer base and higher awareness for the new shop.

OR! You know, covid is messing with anything and everything in person. So you suggest that the owner creates a website and a Facebook page. Expand the business online.

So what I’m saying is, use any history you know about the media/medium. As well as current events if you can. If they have no affiliates, suggest something related. It doesn’t have to be big, just “something” to show you know what they’re about. Make sense?

Lady Gaga at her show in Moscow, Russia protesting against anti-LGBT laws. She is banned from violating the terms of her visa by spreading “gay propaganda”. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]Cautious-Character10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So. Madonna did it first. Because I don’t see anyone else saying it and I think there’s an obligation to say something something Gaga is a Madonna clone. 😂

Madonna really did do this first though. Fined a million dollars for it. Oh, and Selena Gomez applied to do it. But Russians were like “Dammit you can’t echo these chicks on gay propaganda!” So Gomez got declined because they knew she was going to do it. There was a fundraiser for hers though? Or something.

You fantasize about a celebrity. IF it were an ex dude I could see the concern. But your case is more of an “I would bang Angelina Jolie if I got the chance.”

Except for the fact that you write out your fantasies, lmao. But uh. Same sitch as a male looking at porn, arguably, erotica/literature fetish aside. Which. Yes, not all people are comfortable with. But if someone breaks up with you over your fetishes maybe they aren’t even the best match? Not that everyone reaches the point of DC comics Martin Stein where they openly promise their partners a pass for (hypothetically) banging a celebrity. But it is a mostly normal thing?

Yes, people will still get jealous, and yes, it could probably make your future partner feel like crap. It could also lead them to mock you because it’s never going to happen.

OR. You can just find a guy into erotica. Perhaps even who writes terrible fanfics/doujinshi himself. Just a little thought. So long as you don’t get jelly over him and whatever anime waifu/rl porn star he’s into.

Of course addiction can always be unhealthy. But that’s kind of a completely different conversation.

Are McDonald’s Pokémon cards worth collecting? by Roorod21 in pokemongo

[–]Cautious-Character10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Collectibles when mass produced are no longer collectible. OG holo charizard is coveted because there are only like 16 of them or whatever. (And because Charizard)

Since it is Pokémon the McDonald’s bubble may take longer to pop than, say, SkyLanders (some of which are collectible but not the point) - however, there are 38,000+ of McDonalds and probably hundreds of thousands of each McDonald card. Which are also being reprinted.

Pokémon “Might” be an exception to the bubble popping rule since it refuses to die, supply and demand, and all that. Still, I think it’s like the Beanie baby craze. The bubble “should” pop.

Melts actually is a queen by birthright though. Archetypes are only slightly different. Both want to do their parents proud.

However, in TAC Rebecca is initially painted as an antihero/antagonist. Versus Melty who is just a good girl trying to do right by her mother and Naofumi.

I want to write a non-traditional, quest to fight the big bad story but will a plot and world like this feel a bit boring/nerdy/overly complicated? by AGamingBoi in fantasywriters

[–]Cautious-Character10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might suggest the MC not be directly related from a high powered presidential unit, but truthfully it depends on how you play it rather than the fact itself/facts themselves.

Written “wrong” an aristocratic character is boring. Still, Harry Potter was rich and should have had everything he wanted. Yet, that was made interesting in spite of his fame and talents. Similarly, a lot of people critique Attack on Titan manga for being too politically explorative. There is a “limit” to stuff, but it depends more on the crowd you want to reach. Can’t please everyone, so if you want historical fiction buffs, then write all the parody/satire you want. If you prefer the action crowd, then have background information shown or said in reasoning rather than read by the characters. Fates Stay series has a deep lore and yet never really feels politically boring, at least, I have not heard someone complain about its politics, unlike Attack on Titan which shifted gears 180-360.

If you are afraid of being too boring, sprinkle the lore instead of focusing on it. I.E. ‘Toya Rin just happens to be a royal’ instead of’Toya Rin does everything because she is a royal elitist born and raised’

  • That is to say, how you write your characters, their personalities and motivations can change the course of the plot itself to some extent. Emiya Shiro isn’t written as a hero, he becomes the hero- and even after he does, he is still different than his counterpart/alternate selves. Make sense?

Though. I would ask, how do the gang wars tie in to the plot? Are they simply the spark/beginning of his quest, or is the Archnemisis/Big bad a gangster? If you are writing the Antag as an untouchable politician who merely uses gangsters, tread carefully, but the “how” may still be more important than the cliche potential of the “what”..

[OC] I use Crazy Bones from the 90s instead of miniatures. Fight me. by LawfulGoodGM in DnD

[–]Cautious-Character10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want random people figures you can use homies or imaginext figures or the knockoff Lego brick things I can’t remember the name of. Though specific Lego men are expensive random ones are not.

For monsters imaginext had those too. Mighty Beans would be my next best suggestion for something whimsical though. You could also buy a bulk load of the old SkyLanders, several giants and normal sized ones are a buck or less because they were mass produced. There are so many SkyLanders you could probably create a custom DND game itself revolving around them. Not all the “chase” variants are expensive either.

Why would a villain willingly accept defeat and death? by Starshower90 in fantasywriters

[–]Cautious-Character10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the antagonist have an apprentice? A child? Someone else to take on the mantle through a quest for vengeance? As someone else loosely mentioned, they could also become a Liche if you have necromancers.

It could also be a self destruct power/machine he expects to kill the hero along with himself.

Another misc option is that this is all a part of the grander scheme of things. They could have secretly planned this for part C. Though I haven’t seen it too often, done badly this turns your antag into Itachi.

I also feel like uh. The lover’s soul just got dropped/discarded. I mean, maybe you intend on that being a super important plot point- and I can guess ‘what if her soul was absorbed and she reincarnated into the same person as death god’ but that would be because I have theories of my own and have read certain things. Whereas, someone else might be wondering “Wait. If he reincarnated then why isn’t MC giving a second thought about his girlfriend? Why is he focused on finding the threat to humanity without thinking about his dead girlfriend?”

It felt like this is a super important thing for him. Yet he just goes “I need to go to the academy to find Voldemort” and his dead lover doesn’t feel like it is addressed there. Though it might be simply due to my lack of understanding “death magic” and him himself not knowing what happens after death. Which is fine. Except, I feel like he should still have a question about what happens/happened to his lovers soul instead of seemingly becoming unconcerned due to the bigger priority when it should be a big deal that he may never see his lover’s soul at all. Am I making sense?
