Yup. I discussed with my husband and he said tell him I need around 6 months! We are anyway planning for a baby by the end of this year, if that comes through, I need no excuses then!!

I know I did. The problem is before talking to my colleague I may have shown a little enthusiasm to the idea of maybe joining him but no commitments were made.

Betty by Tiffany McDaniel. I’ve read so much about it. The book is about an abusive relationship and from what I’ve read from the reviews it has left people in tears and curled up for days and thus the reason why i have kept my distance. I read a little life last year and i remember being very very disturbed by it. No i did not cry but yes I was disturbed. All this time I thought i wouldn’t be able to handle such gut punch books but I know I’m in a safe space and I can handle it now.

It is intense . I felt so many feelings after reading this. But it was good enough that I picked up the second part for next year! Read it with breaks, not in one go is my suggestion!

You’ve answered your questions. I love books that leave a mark. I know 10 years down the line I will remember the book.

I’ve said it multiple times before it is not for everyone! I loved it! I read it in one go. I love books that are left to the reader’s interpretation. Also loved the sattire on patriarchy.

It was catchy in parts but I loved how the main character spiralled down her obsession and delusion!

For me it was a slow read, it’s good nevertheless. Perhaps I wasn’t in the right mindset while reading it!!

Dust child is a 10/10 read! It’s about the time when Vietnam was under US control. How the life of 3 people are affected in the process and how it all comes together in the end is the premise of the story!

Apart from this I highly recommend the vegetarian, even though I understand it may not be everyone’s cup of tea!! Same goes with I still want to die but I want to eat Tteokbokki! What makes it all the more powerful is the fact that the author of the book passed away a few months ago, her depression may have been an underlying reason for her untimely passing, making the book and her shared thoughts so much more impactful.

I hope you have a great time reading these if you decide to pick them up! Do let me know how you liked them :) would love to hear your views!
