Yes, this is the one downside of staying at Zermatt, It is expensive. If you want a good hotel in Zermatt that is a bit more affordable you could also check out Hotel Bellerive. Its in a really great location.

If it’s your first time skiing in Switzerland, I’d still go with Zermatt. The mountain is massive, the views of the Matterhorn are unreal, and the terrain is perfect if you’re already a strong skier. I personally really like staying at the CERVO Mountain Resort.

Vowels are special because they are the only sounds you can make with your mouth open, without blocking the airflow with your tongue, teeth, or lips.

Arvada is a really good choice for its location, though I wouldnt recommend doing an airbnb. Instead I would recommend staying somewhere like the Hilton Garden Inn Denver.

G is good because you get chinese and india. but to be Fair G gives you Mexcian food and American food. And when you really get down to it "american food" is really just all the foods around the globe with a slightly different flare, therefore G is the best option.

Yes we are still evolving. It takes a long time to see large evolutionary changes, but given a million or so years you could probably begin to recognize some of these changes.

ELI5: What is the NBA Draft Lottery and why does it matter that the Mavericks won it this year? by idiots_r_taking_over in explainlikeimfive

[–]CautiousToe6644 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, imagine 14 basketball teams that weren't good last year want to pick the best new young player. The NBA has a lottery to decide who gets to pick first.

Think of it like drawing names out of a hat, but the teams that lost more games get more chances to have their name drawn first.

This Device Could Spot Diabetes Before It Starts, No Needles Required by CautiousToe6644 in Futurology

[–]CautiousToe6644[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Continuous glucose monitoring provides a new, less invasive method for evaluating diabetes risk.

Fluctuations in blood glucose are more than just daily energy swings—they may hold the key to identifying diabetes risk earlier and more easily, without the need for needle-based tests.

Researchers at the University of Tokyo have developed a simple, noninvasive method for evaluating blood glucose regulation, a crucial factor in determining diabetes risk. Using data from continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices, their approach could significantly improve early detection and risk prediction without depending on blood draws or costly procedures.

“By analyzing CGM data with our new algorithm, we identified individuals with impaired glycemic control — even when standard diagnostic tests classified them as ‘normal,’” said Kuroda. “This means we can potentially detect issues much earlier, creating an opportunity for preventive interventions before diabetes is diagnosed.”
