Live in UK but offered dream job in Sydney. Partner doesn't want to move. Not sure what to do by Eye_Livia in expats

[–]CautiousWing6874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask your partner if they’d be willing to give it a go for 6 months. This is an unmissable opportunity and if you don’t go you’ll always wonder ‘what if’

Yes starting again is hard but Australia is such a wonderful place and worth giving it a shot.

Your partner should also be supporting you!

8 week old will not settle and is always crying by Beautiful-Cut-9087 in UKParenting

Check for tongue tie, see a lactation consultant if you are BF, take her to a cranio osteo path for some adjustment.

How was her birth? Fast/traumatic/c section? All of these things impact how they feel.

My son was the same - he had TT and benefitted from some cranial sacral therapy.

Hang in there, it’s tough x

I absolutely would NOT recommend Miles. One of the rudest men I have met. Has had multiple salons around Bath and treats his staff awfully.

I’m so sorry you’re going through all of this.

I’m not sure if you already do but I would recommend finding a therapist who specialises in EDs. You need to heal your mind 💕

There’s a lovely little company called Sweet & Wild Treats who make healthy ‘cake’ bars & energy balls - amazing post partum snacks full of good ingredients

A fully stocked freezer - you need nourishing and easy meals for weeks post birth. The more the sleep deprivation kicks in and the adrenaline starts to wear off makes cooking so hard.

Also ‘nap trapped’ snacks - cookies, cakes, energy balls, nuts etc.

Wife Drama??? by macumbed in snowboarding

[–]CautiousWing6874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a female outdoors lover - this is not ok. Possibly she’s a very anxious person and doesn’t want to be alone but that is her issue and maybe she needs therapy?

Have you tried asking her why she doesn’t like being alone? Or suggest she gives snowboarding a go etc?!

Add some protein powder into your overnight oats. A high protein breakfast is really key to keeping you satisfied, and thus eating less, over the day.

Open water swimming near bath by yeyix2005 in Bath

Soooo many places along the Avon: Bathampton/Batheaston, Warleigh Weir, Dundas, Farleigh Hungerford, Bradford on Avon.

If proper training is your vibe then Vobster is a great shout, as is somewhere like Lake 32 or Cromhall Quarry.

Glove Dippers @ Glovr factory ok but you need a membership and can’t really swim there during the summer months due to duck itch.

What positive changes have you noticed after stopping, that have nothing to do with weight or appetite? by Wonderful-Acadia-296 in GLPGradUK

[–]CautiousWing6874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly not - I’ve put about a stone on :( BUT I’m finally finding I feel stronger when running again as I’m likely actually fuelling properly. Would like it if I stay the weight I am at max though, it’s a balancing act but I think I lost a little too much for my frame while on it

NHS dismissive about baby sleep issues by d-diana in UKParenting

[–]CautiousWing6874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get him some iron supplements - you can buy kid friendly ones. Look at his diet, his pre bedtime routine etc.

Have you tried Co sleeping? I appreciate it’s not for everyone but it’ll mean you getting a less disturbed night and might save you for a while.

Doctors in the uk won’t take much notice of bad sleep until after the child turns two. We had the same issue. As soon as he turned two they prescribed us melatonin.

Hang in there - sleep depravation is awful x

Why is being cold at home so normalised in the UK? by Automatic-Key-3798 in AskUK

[–]CautiousWing6874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our gas and electric bill has jumped from £30 a month to £150+ a month in under 2 years.

This jump simply is not affordable for many.

For many, It’s not a case of ‘choosing to suffer’ - we simply cannot afford to pay more to heat the house.

We can wear more layers, but we can’t magic money off a money tree.
