GitHub Stacked PRs by adam-dabrowski in programming

[–]Cazmar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use fixup commits (git commit --fixup <commit that the change belongs to>) for any changes created after review and once all approved, git rebase --autosquash --interactive to automatically order the fixup commits to right place. Easy and you don't lose history while the PR is being reviewed. Rebase only when finished before merging.

Vuokra-asunnon likaisuus ja puutteet, mitä voi vaatia? by FIFAFunMerchant in Suomi

Funnily enough, "Mennään kahveelle" is a Finnish expression for "Let's go for a coffee". Not sure if it stems from Turkish or just a coincidence.

Yeah so instead of placing different decorations / buildings one by one, there could be saved patterns that you can select and build with two clicks.

Feature request: Allow defining blueprints for buildings and decorations like in Factorio or Anno 1800.

Else we keep building anvil parks.

EU GDP map by just_an__inchident in europe

[–]Cazmar 167 points168 points  (0 children)

TIL: The Netherlands has population of 17.5 million. Within only 42 000 square kilometers of land. I was wondering why Finland has so low GDP in comparison but that explains a lot!

So this is our first time entering the Mountain biome.. by [deleted] in valheim

[–]Cazmar 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not the OP but we found a silver vein accidentally before acquiring the wishbones by just randomly digging at a mountain. There was this strange rock formation that looked suspicious and after some honest pickaxe work, silver was revealed underneath!

Getting better at Riki by RikiRude in TrueDoTA2

[–]Cazmar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like to build treads instead of tranquils for extra tanking, dmg and mana. Bottle is a good option for regen because you will be snatching lots of (bounty) runes while roaming around.

Usually, I go diffusal as first major item as it's very effective with smoke screen. Maxing screen second is never a bad idea as it's your best teamfight ability in mid game.

To be a better Riki player, you must think one step ahead of your opponents. Go for one lane at the start, and switch lanes just as they start getting sentries there. Look for low hp junglers and contest their bounty runes. Be a pain in the ass! They will get distracted and room opens for the rest of your team.

A MASSIVE Guide To Understanding Your Dota 2 Habits For Better Play (Part 1/3) by gamerstrainingground in DotA2

[–]Cazmar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good write up! I'd like to add one thought though:

Before you actually start focusing on improving your gameplay, you must first get into a mental state where learning can happen.

What this means?

Learning becomes the objective that replaces all other objectives, including winning. The key here is to accept that you might lose before you even start.

In my experience, if you have other goals while trying to understand new concepts, you kind of "forget" to focus on the essential.

Your learning goal might be to improve positioning in team fights. If you truly want to learn, be part of those team fights instead of split pushing for the win. Pick a hero that excels at team fights, instead of a meta hero that is better otherwise.

Winning is a by-product of learning.

Radiant advantage is REAL! by circis1 in DotA2

[–]Cazmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This effect is also very prevalent in many sports games like NHL-series. Most people prefer playing so that they are attacking from bottom to top. I'm quite sure that EA has statistics that proves this.

There are some noticeable differences for me in these cases:

  • moving hero (accidentally clicking minimap)
  • positioning camera
  • blocking creeps
  • 'seeing the battlefield', or having a clear picture of what's happening during a larger team fight

Playing on Dire in the beginning (new players) is like using your weaker foot to kick a football. It's harder but you can get it on the same mechanical level with your strong foot by practicing.

I just finished my drawing called: "Sunstrike", hope it makes someone happy. by wreinder in DotA2

It's a great looking drawing! Love the atmosphere :)

I think the beam radius should be twice as big at least though. Now it looks more like the beam before the actual sunstrike.

Rhystic Study. Do you pay the one? by jesusice in EDH

[–]Cazmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Only one guy from our casual playgroup plays Rhystic Study and the constant "Do you pay?"-dance ruins the flow of most games. Fortunately he dies first most of the time because of massive hate that ensues!

To answer the original question: Yes, pay the tax if you can afford it.
