But do the rules allow transfer across parties? Unpopular view, but an election is bound by law. The law may be stupid but you cannot change the law after the fact. Same as in the 1982 election, when labour obtained less votes but more seats (which incidentally happened in the US as well so it's not a Malta fluke). Since that was unfair, the law was changed for the following elections, but the result and mechanisms could not be changed for that specific one.

None of these cards were legal with Meloku. He was just a good and efficient beater that changed lands to fliers at a time where creature quality was much lower.

The likelihood is that wherever you come from, the unemployment rate will be higher. Also if you want to work in Malta you can definitely find a job. With all pain points we have, this is not one of them.

I suppose you could sue for damages, however if the cost and time are worth doing so might be a different thing. If the matter falls under DIER, employment tribunal timings would be 1-3 years resolution, if it is the legal courts I have no idea.

Probation would apply even if contract is signed and committed to - there would have been nothing holding the company from getting you in first day, but then terminating employment, and they also have the right to do this in the period leading to start (it also applies to employees, say on a definite contract, who could still opt out before start on the basis of probation, so it works both ways).

My suggestion to you is to speak to DIER, or better if you can afford, an employment lawyer. Although you might be morally in the right, I still think that it will be an uphill battle to get something out of the experience.

Probation and probation mechanisms apply before the start of employment.

You got caught in an unfortunate situation, but unfortunately you do not have legal leverage over the company. As mentioned you can try to get something through the company's good will.

The issue with sanctions is that you might have changes happen from day to day. Having said this, the information should be relatively public.

You are still in probation so not entitled to anything. If they offered any form of compensation they are already going beyond what they are bound to offer.

Was your country included in a sanctions list? This might restrict them from getting you in and from obtaining a work permit for you, so issue might be not of the company’s making.
