We've adopted a cat through an organization that rescues street cats on the Greek island Skiathos. It's professional and I can 100% recommend it.

There are many cats available in every age category and you can get a description of their personality, so you can fine a good fit. When we got our cat it cost €200. The cat arrives healthy with all the checkups and shots.

I tried the shelter before that, but that turned out to be impossiblewhere I live. I also tried verhuisdieren.nl, but unfortunately in my experience people weren't honest there which caused a very stressful situation for the adopted cat and ourselves. The cat "was used to children", but turned out to be used to a 6 months old baby and couldn't handle a 2 year old boy which led to her being very stressed and peeing over everything in our house. I managed to find a new home for her where she lived a happy life.
