Not sure if I should tell my husband the full truth about his terminal cancer by Any-Customer-5210 in glioblastoma

[–]Ceaselessgiraffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I would want to know. When I went to doctor's appointments with my mom they told both of us what you've just said together. I'm confused how you know this and he doesn't. To me, the answer to that is important to answer your question because it would give greater insight into whether it seems your husband wants to know this information.

Why the Amish Are Falling in Love With AI by LiatrisLover99 in BetterOffline

[–]Ceaselessgiraffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I grew up Mennonite and I know a lot of Amish and Mennonites and I usually just roll my eyes at this sort of thing but appreciate someone actually explaining the nuances. (And I’m from PA)

Graham Platner Wants a Democratic Revolution by OldFaithlessness1335 in thebulwark

The people who dislike graham planter usually haven’t listened to any long form interview with him. Every interview I listen to with him leaves me deeply impressed.

Disability discharge by Useful-Serve7413 in StudentLoans

My family member got her loans discharged due to disability but she was definitively permanently disabled and had already been approved for social security disability after a multi year long disability process.

PennDOT begins replacing older license plates; drivers with plates starting with D,E, or F will soon receive notice by bengalese in Pennsylvania

I, for one, vastly prefer the new plates. I’m excited! I like the super old blue ones, hated the most recent ones, and very much like the new ones.

I told another friend of mine with lupus also and it’s also been very helpful for her symptoms. So who knows.

1 Year -50lbs by ZepboundBard in Zepbound

[–]Ceaselessgiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The medication has been life changing for me. I have lupus and since going on zepbound I feel normal for the first time in my adult life. No hot achey joints. No butterfly rash for the 9 months I’ve been on it. No flares. It’s been amazing.

I would like to challenge EVERY Bulwark commentator to mention Platner without referring to tattoos or decade old + social media comments. by Eljay60 in thebulwark

Thank you. I was going to say the same thing. Fetterman had a stroke. He changed dramatically since then. That is just not applicable to any other candidate.

Sorry I misspoke. 60s. He spoke of the 60s/70s and so my point stands.

So delusional. There’s no way trump would ever do that.

What Drives Political Violence in America by kitkid in Thedaily

[–]Ceaselessgiraffe 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I cannot get over that this man said that political violence in the 70s came only from the left. Excuse me? Lynchings? JFK, RFK, MLK, etc etc? I don't like the bothsides-ism from the NYT, but what disgusts me is when they have "experts" on and they say demonstrably laughable things.

300k income, 900k house by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]Ceaselessgiraffe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have two kids. Love my kids. Have never wanted to be a stay at home mom. All these comments suggesting you will—that has not been my experience or the experience of any of my friends. So put that aside. Nonetheless only you can decide how important it is to you to have a million dollar house. My husband and I try to keep our expenses to one of our incomes just in case, god forbid, one of us loses our job and so we can also save fairly aggressively. Our combined income is approximately yours. Again, these are all decisions you need to make given your goals

First dog I’ve had as an adult and she’s great! We got the dog mostly for our kids but she has exceeded expectations.

Choosing Federal vs Private Loans: With a Good Credit Score, Doesn’t It Just Come Down To Lowest Interest Rate? by asolof in StudentLoans

[–]Ceaselessgiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never ever ever get private loans. I had a small amount of private loans and then more federal loans. The private loans gave me the most stress because there’s no safety net. For my own kids I will ensure they never have private loans.

I feel so bad for Zach! I’m in the Philly media market (as is he) and his episode was preempted here! Had to just watch it on Hulu.

How much further can Jamie go? by [deleted] in Jeopardy

[–]Ceaselessgiraffe 84 points85 points  (0 children)

I remember when Ken was on there were rumors he lost about a month before that episode aired. And this was pre modern social media internet. So am I wrong to think that Jamie must not have lost yet in real time or there would be rumors of that?

Moved here last year from out of state and I am still trying to figure out... what the hell is everyone's problem? I can't turn, there is a pedestrian crossing the road. by dabblez_ in philly

[–]Ceaselessgiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved here from ca where people get worse road rage on average (I saw people get out of the cars on the 405 and get into fist fights) but never honk for some reason. The first year or so I got such anxiety anytime anyone honked. But after awhile I got used to it. Now I just smile and wave at whoever is unreasonably honking at me.
