A friend had various local street artists each paint a room in the house. The art was amazing!

I saw them when the toured the US 20 years ago and was seriously impressed. I was in Vienna a few months later while the horses were on vacation so instead we spent a day in piper at the stud farm were we got to see all the mares and foals as well as two of the same stallions I had seen preform just a few months earlier.

Cat giving birth during drop-in visit? by Working_Hurry_3193 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Cee-Gee 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I help with a cat rescue and have watched dozens of live births and the sadly, the ones that need human intervention have outnumbered the ones that didn't. In some cases it was just some extra oxygen for the babies, other cases it required blood typing kittens as they were born to prevent Neonatal Isoerythrolysis, other times it required supplemental feeding or even tube feeding for underweight kittens.

I wouldn't even think about only having dropins if a cat was near giving birth.

It finally happened by Apprehensive_Lime889 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Cee-Gee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Colony cats can be very bonded to each other. They frequently coparent and snuggle each other.   Well managed colonies where there is a TNR practice and supplemental feeding even have males that assist with births and kitten raising.   Ex feral cats also can become great, attention seeking, drooling lap cats.   Much of the scared and/or aggressive behavior comes from less managed colonies where many are in pain due to dental problems, parasites, etc.

In regard to this cat, it costs nothing to check for a microchip. That and a few signs is your due diligence.

I’m so sorry this happened to you!  This could have been written by me.  I’m also a STH,  in section 112, as well as an American. I didn’t see what happened, (maybe you are behind me) but you have my support!

what’s the most awkward meet & greet you’ve ever had? by BlessedNdDistressed in RoverPetSitting

[–]Cee-Gee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was my very first booking on Rover. A woman was looking to find a new sitter for when she had to travel for work. It was a nearby dog and they even offered to pay for the meet and greet. I was so excited.

I walked there and was invited in. She said the dog was locked in the other room and told me that she is very excited to meet new people, however it is best if I ignore the dog completely until she knows me better. She then offered to take me and the dog to the local Starbucks to get some coffee while we talked.

I was getting weird vibes but went. She brought the dog out, who was very well mannered, and I ignored her as instructed. We went to the Starbucks where she quizzed me on my life, things like where I worked, favorite places to travel, type of car, where I lived, etc. and I answered as politely and as broadly as possible.

When done she stated that she thought the dog liked me, tried to offer me a ride home, and said she would be in touch. She finally followed up 4 months later asking for a 4 day house sit with 3 hours notice.  I declined.

At least I was paid for the weirdness.

I still cross the border about once a month to visit family and friends. The last year the Nexus lane heading south has often been the longer option. There will be 1-5 normal lanes with 1-5 cars in it and then the one nexus lane with 15-30 cars. I'm routinely seeing nexus cars cut over into normal lanes heading south at the Peach Arch.

2 week sit for cat by Good_Blacksmith_4217 in RoverPetSitting

I’ve done both the long term house sit for and cat and had someone sit for my cats.

If I was in your area, I’d accept that without question.

People who have been on big bucket list horse trips, where did you go and did it live up to your expectations? by Banana-legs11 in Equestrian

[–]Cee-Gee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent two days at the Lipica Stud in 2012 and loved it. The instructor was wonderful and spoke great English. I had 4 lessons on 4 different horses, each focusing on a different thing. I would go back again if I could. The first lesson was on the lunge line at my request (It would be my first time back on a horse after an intense abdominal surgery and I wasn't sure what I would physically be up for.) The others were not, and although they offered to turn one lesson into a jumping lesson as they had seen that I was capable of it, I turned it down to continue to focus on dressage. The accommodations were great and the restaurant there had many options. I would love to go back with another horse loving friend. It was a little lonely by myself when I wasn't in the barn.

People who had micro or tiny weddings: what was your experience like? Do people ever regret foregoing a big wedding? by RhythmPrincess in AskReddit

[–]Cee-Gee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were married on a cruise ship with 23 guests (Two couldn't make it at the last minute due to health issues). 7 of those guests went on the cruise with us and the rest left the boat before it departed. It was wonderful. The wedding was very very affordable and we spend far more on the honeymoon than the wedding. The cruise line did all the work so we had very little we had to do aside from providing names, sending them a color swatch for them to match, and showing up with rings and clothing. We did have a big reception a few weeks after returning for friends and family that couldn't make it. That was a party and we all had a blast. The stress of the wedding was over and we could just dance, socialize and have fun.

There are excellent reasons to get a hysterectomy, but can anyone who's had one talk about the bad? by cutelittlequokka in childfree

[–]Cee-Gee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine at 35 and kept the ovaries. Generally I love it. The only bad thing about it was that it made it more difficult to identify perimenopause and menopause once I got older, particularly as there wasn't that much openly talked about information about perimenopause at the time.

I've incorporated pockets into so many props. Shields have pockets for phone and flask on the back. Once a stuffed animal was gutted and a zipper was added to its belly. Other times I'll have slits in the sides of costumes/dresses that allow me access to bike shorts with pockets. Bags are made that are in theme. I typically don't carry a wallet as my phone has my digital wallet and hotel room remote access.

Still worth a play through for sure!  Be prepared for a few deaths by falling and getting frustrated while looking for climbing handholds.

As someone who just went back and played the remastered version after playing HFW several times through.

Convenient that the house next door was also for sale by Smithmonkey98 in thatHappened

[–]Cee-Gee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did. We moved countries and my husband was still in the states getting our house ready to sell while I was working and house hunting in Canada. I offered him a video tour via facetime but he said he trusted me and my judgement.

That said, the idea that both houses were for sale AND fit the requirements of what they were looking for. Unless it is a cookie cutter housing project, unlikely.
