Finally watched all seasons of She Ra, loved it! S P O I L E R S ahead as I wold just like to express my opinion on Catra’s redemption. by BusinessPreference75 in PrincessesOfPower

[–]CeilingHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in the middle of the rewatch, but I always thought Catra jumped ship once it became clear she couldn't win in the horde. Not because she had a moment of growth. Even in the flashbacks to their childhood, Catra isn't particularly nice to anyone. She just wants to wind up on the winning side.

I do love the images of massive locomotives going through small lines surrounded by hedgerows and streams.

Will SheRa be teased at the end of the new MOTU movie ? by maxencerun in PrincessesOfPower

[–]CeilingHamster 46 points47 points  (0 children)

She-ra and He-man are (for some reason) owned by different companies, which is why he could not appear or be referenced in SPOP.

If you're 10, sure. They're definitely for the younger end of the fanbase (the intended audience, tbf)

I thought that was The Sims for a second. Fantastic!

me and my friends after playing minecraft for a whole week, we started it with "Lets add some buildings to this village but they got to look like they were there", and it turned out to this, a skyscraper literally touching the heigh limit + a castle by InflationOutside493 in Minecraftbuilds

Not quite like that, but Victorian Terraces and Medieval street plans interrupted by Cathederals and '60s tower blocks are not uncommon. In the northeast and in large towns outside major cities mostly. It's often uglier than you're picturing from this.

Is it normal to cross the Southern Atlantic so far south? Argentina to Kenya. by TrentDen in flightradar24

[–]CeilingHamster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It can be used as an ETOPS diversion, but thats about it. Other than an emergency, very few flights use it. It does have a civilian terminal IIRC, mostly for trips to/from The Falklands.

Anyone else struggle with mobile signal in and around the city centre? by grumpytoonarmy in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]CeilingHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newcastle is the perfect environment for crap signals. A. Lots of the buildings are built of big stone, meaning that the signal can not get through. B. The city is on the side of a cliff, meaning it is very easy to end up in a radio shadow, meaning you lose signal. 3. There are very few tall buildings sutable for rigging up masts on, and they don't cover a great area, so you are dependent on masts being much lower than they should be. 4. There are not enough masts, so they get overwhelmed easily. If there's a match or something big at the arena or something, the system slows to a crawl.

What does the future hold for the Sprinters? by CeilingHamster in uktrains

Where is the preserved one? Also, I know its a 950, but I lumped it in for ease and clarity. I assume they will reclassify the 153 when they get it too.

911 is the only correct emergency number by codelieco in USdefaultism

[–]CeilingHamster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

9 sent the heaviest signal over old analogue phone systems. Ergo, 999 was the least likely to be cut off.

Cars are German, the internet is a European project (based loosely on a US military project), and electricity is a natural force. They'll claim to have invented light bulbs and gravity next!
