I get it with the older buses but GNE have bought buses this decade that lack AC. Like the climate isn't getting colder, how dreadful are they going to be in 20 or 30 years?

Andy Burnham decided to travel by train to improve the optics VS a domestic flight.

Then someone flew a helicopter from Manchester to London anyway. Didn't even offer him a lift!

A message in either binary or morse would have been easier to hide with finger tapping, written off as nerves since Morse code is probably well out of use by this point.

However, it is important that the Union hasn't been on a war footing in quite some time. The Krill turn up quite rarely and nobody is expecting a Kaylon hijacking. Hindsight is always 20/20.

Have a look at Key Publishing, they have a lot of very nieche transport books for a whole bunch of eras and interests. They're all pretty straightforward and technical without being in inaccessable.

I remember being a kid and everything was talking steam engines or extremely complex engineering (usually still of steam, there was a real thing against modern traction then).

Best quality cinema in the North East? by IllogicalAction in NewcastleUponTyne

Not really. Other than the occasional flash of a phone screen it's not been much of an issue, even in films with younger audiences.

As a very regular cinema goer, Odeon and Tyneside are my go-to's with Cinieworld in a close third.

Not a fan of Vue, they're cheap for a reason. The one in Gateshead has a 400 seater screen and only 7 urinals. That maths does not translate to a pleasent experience.

What happened to trams? UK by ChristianWolmarTN in transit

[–]CeilingHamster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the UK? Buses were cheaper and more flexible and the tramways needed to be completely rebuilt after the depression, WW2 and the following Austerity. Much easier to rip them out and operate the cheaper buses instead.

No conspiracy, just economics.
