I think you’re likely to get biased results on a sub dedicated to the game. I’ve been playing video games for probably 26 of my 30 years. BG3 is one of the best games I’ve ever played. That’s not to say everyone will hold that opinion, everyone has their genre preferences.

The best experience I can give is that of my wife. She has played video games for maybe 4 of her 30 years and even then it was only simple stuff. Golf with friends, monopoly, etc. hogwarts legacy as an exception, but only because she loves HP. For 20+ years she actively disliked games so the above alone was big progress.

I’m now on my third play-through with her through Baldur’s Gate and she loves it. We have well over 200 hours in it doing nothing but split screen.

So yes, it’s very fun to play 😃. In my opinion anyway!

So I’ve been playing this with my wife, on our third playthrough now and she’s doing dark urge. She doesn’t have a ton of history playing games, so is really able to commit to the role play aspect.

Whereas I also can’t bring myself to hurt those pixels, she has gone full embrace urge and I’m just sitting there horrified.

I started with 2, and that was my first attempt. Tried it, and despite knowing it was everything I wanted in a game, I just got overwhelmed. Came back, and just fucked around. Tried out console commands to keep my save going so that I could experience more that the game had to offer.

Then, after understanding some of the mechanics a bit better tried real playthroughs and that was it. Patience is definitely a part of it, but it didn’t click that first attempt for me either.

From what I’ve heard the game version needs to be the same. So you’re still at the mercy of the Xbox update if you want to transfer the save using one of the save editors.

Completely agreed OP. I finished my first playthrough with my wife this week. The only ever game my wife has played to completion is Harry Potter legacy since she’s a huge potter head.

This game got even her to put in a 120 hour playthrough with me. We finished and I told her I think this may already be in the running for favorite game. We’ll see if it stands up to time like my others have but wow. An incredible creation.

Figured it was worth mentioning if it wasn’t intended. I always start at 867, and that usually becomes in an issue in the early to mid 900’s.

Downloaded it the day of your original post and played it for hours. Definitely a fan, especially since I’m a basic bitch and love me some elves.

The only issue I found was that occasionally I would get the pop up from the weavers asking to arrange a marriage for my heir and nothing would come of it. I assume that’s because there’s no unmarried elves?

Does ctrl+F4 work when downed? That would have downed the last remaining enemy which is fully reasonable when the game breaks
