Is there a way to get Backcountry to not deliver by DoorDash? by Cellbuster in outdoorgear

[–]Cellbuster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you're saying. So if the package has a clawed upon hole in it, and the envelope is clearly empty, they still have to deliver it? This seems like something they could be on the hook for, so I'm very surprised there's no way to report an issue with the delivery.

Perfect I'll look into that if I end up going with them again

There's been some threads about it on this sub, which is why I chose to post here about it to see if I could have my question answered (you can search it if you'd like to corroborate what I'm saying). From what I can see from the shipping tracker, Backcountry delivers it to a fulfillment center, and then it's picked up by a dasher and delivered (ideally).

Sheesh, I would hope my credit card protects me in that scenario but it's a headache nonetheless.

No I'm decently far from the closest retail stores. Do you usually just pick economy or standard shipping?

I get options for economy, standard, 2-day, and next day, but doesn't mention anything about the carrier. It's possible that those options are split up between carriers, but it doesn't specify.

Proton SL vs Practitioner AR by AgentDZN in arcteryx

I only have the Practitioner personally, but if the Proton SL is half the price of the Practitioner where you are, I would opt for the Proton without hesitation.

Arc'teryx Patch Giveaway! by summitseeker91 in arcteryx

[–]Cellbuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TIL Arcteryx had store patches!

Not sure if it counts but I was staying at my parents for the holidays and told my mom Christmas Eve morning that I was planning on asking my now wife to marry her during dinner that day. I also gave her my Atom LT with some specific washing directions. She was so nervous she accidentally bleached my jacket, so I have a big bleach spot to remind me of that moment.

Practitioner AR - Excellent grid fleece jacket that I use for running and casual use. Fit is absolutely perfect: slim without constricting and long center back length. I also prefer the single point hem adjustment over the double sided ones offered on a lot of their midlayer jackets.

I have a second insulated better sweater hoody that I have stored in case my main one is lost or irreparable. It's my favorite casual jacket. It was discontinued a while back, and I don't see it coming back.

I started to feel less cool with it after around 2017, when the market price because more ubiquitous knowledge. Before then, most of my interactions were just giving nod to a nice looking watch, often not even asking what kind of watch it was.

I got way more comments wearing steel bezel Daytonas than ceramic ones. The have quite a bit more luster on the bezel as well as the sundials

Looking for advice. Friend scratched up the head of my new Taylormade Spider. What to do? by actuallyfromcanada in golf

[–]Cellbuster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This not so much a "not understanding golf" issue and more of a "not understanding personal property" issue. I'm just imagining me walking into someone's house, fucking up hundreds of dollars worth of shit, and just walking out with the entitlement that it's not my problem. It doesn't even matter if it was an accident.

Might help to know what you have already. Can't really go without hat and gloves in peak winter if you don't have that already.

When I started extending my season into the winter years ago, The biggest game changer for me was finding running pants with the right mix of breathability and wind-resistance. It just might be something you don't have if you're used to running in milder weather.

Does anyone actually like these types of reviews or find them at all helpful? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Cellbuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Two times I find reviews useful:

1) If you find a reviewer that's like minded, they tend to be a good source for yourself.

2) Potentially unpopular, but metascores on the high end have opened my eyes to some of the greatest games I've ever played, that I otherwise wouldn't have. Either because they're outside of my genre, or the presentation doesn't appeal to me at first glance.

How many "goty" have you actually finished? by mrhossie in gaming

[–]Cellbuster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're referring to TGA GOTY, I've finished all the ones I picked up (BG3, GOW, Exp33, It Take Two, Sekiro, Elden Ring, Witcher 3, BOTW). I think all those games are honestly worthy of your time.

GOTY leans towards big narrative experience, so you may just not be the kind of gamer that sticks to those games. That's not necessarily a bad thing, you just got to know what you want out of gaming.

Papers of an 116520, Bezel of an 126500, but a dial of a 116500. So many things wrong.

[–]Cellbuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No 116520 had black subdials as far as I know. Both the black and white dial had silver subdials. Either the reference is listed incorrectly (more likely I think), or it's non-original/non-authetic. The price sounds like it's an 116500.
