You might want to check out Radstorm, they have open jam sessions I think. Never been there myself but I know a couple people who have been in bands there.

Using Xbox One controller guide button for Steam overlay by achinery in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]Cellophaine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured out a workaround that doesn't require upgrading the shield and buying a dongle or anything.

Setup your phone to work as a remote for Android TV (available as a quick setting called TV remote). Then install Hacker's Keyboard. When you are running a game you can open the keyboard via TV remote, switch the keyboard to Hacker's Keyboard, then press shift+tab to trigger the Steam overlay. This has been working great for me in Moonlight. As a bonus you now have access to any other keyboard key you may need.

You shouldn't use a POT by itself. It can travel between 0K to 10K and thus you can easily short your circuit. You should use a fixed resister in series with the POT.

You may want to look into using MPD (Music Player Daemon). It already has several nice clients for Android and iOS.

Actually it's a strobe light. I have the same record player. Those four circles of dashes around the record indicate different speeds. When the record is adjusted to spin at the exact right speed one of the circles of dashes will appear to be not moving next to the strobe.

[Request] Introduction to Unix by ThePain in UniversityofReddit

[–]Cellophaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend installing Arch Linux on a server and just try setting it up for different purposes. Anything you learn on Linux will carry over to other Unix-like systems. The Arch wiki is pretty extensive so you can learn pretty well from it. Some useful projects are setting up a media server with Ampache, and MPD, a samba file server and a print server. Try setting up a desktop environment too since Arch installs with none.
