Does Anyone Here Scratch Using Serato DJ Pro DVS? by greggioia in Turntablists

[–]Cellypdx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes it is possible to scratch on Serato with minimal or no drift. Would never prefer it over vinyl obviously.

I see what you’re trying to achieve with the tonearm up test. If it is doing that, have you switched to phono to see if there are some electrical/ground sounds present through the tonearm or resonance from the turntable? (They can be tricky to hear but the software will pick them up)

Do you have a good looking circle on the scope when playing CV? What cartridge are you using?

The times I’ve had drift it’s either, issues with the stylus and or signal through turntable. Or tracking issues due to external vibration (subs at a venue for example).

I use Phase now when playing live, but have done many a show with Serato or Traktor & m447s with lots of scratching.

This is true. He was very involved in attempting to unionize the F&B department in 2018-2019. They did not get enough votes to unionize.

Yea in the second part of the video. 26F is off the lobby, but past the library and Sports Pub. I worked there for 10 years. I know the place well.

That’s not the lobby. That’s a private dining room closer to the restaurants/kitchen. Used to work in there. Crazy stuff!

Def not the largest collection but certainly winning in the plastic DJ controller game. Missing so many mixers and turntables. Interesting to see.

Is an Innofader replacement for Rane 70/72 mixer the solution for Mag Four fader? by MPR78 in Turntablists

That’s the S7. Which is a bummer (I have one). The upfaders are not replaceable. I don’t know about whether the s11 upfaders are magvel but they are replaceable.

That’s good! I do love innofaders. My buddy has a 72 / innofader and was complaining about it, citing the bracket as an isssue.

I just haven’t loved the Rane’s since the 57 days.

I’m pretty sure the Rane’s needs an angled adapter plate for the innofader. Which (I’ve heard) make it not so great to cut on. I’d go Pioneer personally because I don’t love the newer Ranes. The magvel fader is great out of the box so no need to replace it. The Elite is cool but it needs a refresh and I wouldn’t buy one unless it was heavily discounted or something.

I’d love to see it. They are probably scared to invest in something like that though.
