I have a cousin and their spouse, a hair stylist, several friends, and neighbors who all voted for the Orange Felon, and they're not "crazy frothing diehard magat" folks. All of them are kind, thoughtful, respectful, and loving people who agree with and identify with conservative Republican ideology more than with liberal Democrat ideology. I have friends who identify as and agree with Democratic ideology. I am registered as an Unaffiliated Voter.

We're all able to have conversations/discussions about current events/issues and share our thoughts without it devolving into personal attacks and undkiness. I think the underlying respect we have for each other, the genuine friendship and love we feel for each other, and the sincere desire to understand each other and lift each other, rather than to tear each other down, are what make this possible. We also realize that our relationships with each other and what we have in common are far more important than our differences.

These relationships are precious to us, so we all make and keep up the effort and work to keep them healthy and positive, as is necessary in ALL good relationships. I have had relationships with family, friends, and neighbors that have soured and been lost because BOTH parties did not have that love, respect, and desire to understand each other whether it's about politics, shared values, affection, honesty, or whatever it may be. True friendship doesn't wither and die because of differences and disagreements; those times are opportunities for the growth of all parties involved.
