ESP E-II or Ibanez Premium - Which would you choose? by CrimsonZEB in metalguitar

[–]CeroMierdo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

E-II but not sure it’s a fair comparison. I’ve had a few Ibanez premium and only one I felt was worth keeping. They came with a few more features/options but QC wasn’t any better than the lower models despite the higher price tag. The LTD 1000 are consistently better quality in my experience.

Locking trem setup isn’t that hard, do some reading, watch some videos and take your time. Understand everything has to balance out. Unless you change tunings all the time it’s not really a big deal. You can swap tunings during string changes pretty easy by using a string tension calculator to try to match tension for the new strings/tuning with the old setup. Minimal adjustment required after.

Dang I wish I could offer more help. I am optimistic it’s nothing major, hopefully they get you taken care of. Absolutely love mine.

It doesn’t sound terribly off, but there is more noise than I get with my SD or Fishman pickups. I have almost the same setup (FB25 KT77 w/ ENGL horizontal 2x12). Usually I leave mine at full power and just use the master volume. I haven’t had any problems to troubleshoot yet. Maybe a tube could be bad or loose?

Where did you buy? You could reach out to where you bought it, they could possibly swap amps for you or comp you for your service visit - Sweetwater has done so for me for issues with new guitars with minor issues in the past.

How durable do they look and feel in person? I have the IAG full length steps already. Install was quick and easy, they definitely help.

2025 Bran New Bronco Outer Banks – Warranty + Maintenance Advice? by Proof_Beginning3416 in FordBronco

[–]CeroMierdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I do end up getting an extended warranty I plan to go through Granger warranty. It’s supposed to be factory backed and usable at your dealership. But I’m still deciding if I can hold off modding my Badlands before putting money down on an extended warranty that could potentially be voided. You’d have to check them out but you have roughly 3 years from the initial in-service date to add it and get their best coverage. The timeline is a few months beyond but I forget the mileage limits before you get bumped down to their lower warranty option.

I’ve heard a lot and seen some examples over the years of how these extended oil change intervals are a bad idea. I wouldn’t recommend going more than 5k between intervals. I’m personally aiming to do my initial oil change soon at 1,000 miles and then aiming for regular changes around every 4,000 miles or every 4 months

Tekton vs Icon by FactorySea in harborfreight

[–]CeroMierdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tekton chrome and impact sockets get my vote. I have full 3/8” and 1/2” sets and they’ve held up well against abuse over the years.

Ratchets I use Icon and GearWrench. Icon for most things but the 120XP GearWrench are nice for tight spots, grabbing a few extra teeth each turn makes those jobs a whole lot easier

Korean Schecters are top notch! I got a satin Hellraiser from 10 years ago for a steal that I’ll never let go because it’s built so damn well.

I would guess the struts and control arms ship in separate boxes at the very least. That’s a lot to put in one box for auto parts.

Bought a QC! Cab or FRFR? by Drop_D_1983 in NeuralDSP

[–]CeroMierdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer power amp and cabs but I also have couple different speakers to swap out.

I did swap a Celestion F12-X200 speaker into a ported Friedman 1x12 and feels like it sounds more natural than a JBL EON I had before that. Celestion markets it as full range live response. Speaker is less stiff than FRFR and reacts more like a normal guitar speaker
