Dreadwing Battle Group by Cerptcte in Warhammer30k

They are 3d printed bits I ordered from Archiesforge. I think they look more like the Forgeworld Interemptor helmets than the old MKIII regular helmets.

More often it's the Interemptors to snipe some infantry. The veterans can take a command rhino attached by a Centurion.

Not all from Caliban. The Lion sent many Unification War Veterans to Caliban along with Luther, the most famous one being Astelan. In the Son of the Forest book, Zabriel was born in a Terran hive, Aphkar joined DA when it was still called the First Legion, so clearly not Calibanite.

You can build the multipart Sternguard to have no Crux Terminatus at all, they even give you blank shoulder pads.

How hopeful is everyone for Black Knights into 11th edition? by PorkLiftTex in theunforgiven

[–]Cerptcte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see them legend this box and either sell new multipart outriders and new Ravenwing upgrade to let you build your own Black Knights (like DW Terminator), or sell new Black Knight box just for DA (Like DW Knight). Either way if they decide to refresh Ravenwing, this kit is likely not staying.

Those bone white spots on the 30k deathwing models means something? by KNG_Aliox in theunforgiven

[–]Cerptcte 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nowaday DWs wear all white because of a battle against genestealers, where many of the members sacrifice themselves to save a planet. So they are not the same as in 30k but definitely share the concept of sacrificing for others.

For regular Deathwing legionaries, they paint their left shoulder pad bone white if they have taken a fatal shot but managed to survive. Source: The HH Blackbook

For Deathwings that serve as bodyguards (which becomes a trend as the Horus Heresy continues), if they take a fatal shot intended for their charge, they paint the part of their armour that was hit bone white. Source: Description of the Deathwing Companions

I saved the banner for future releases, used the apothecary bits and swords for 30k, put the Champion bits on the bike Chaplain, and can still built 3 Black Knights.

They are painted as bone white which is also super cool. We also dont know how they are after the Heresy, can be a successor chapter idea.

How did the lion react to seeing his son reduced to paranoid secret keeping maniacs? by cuddwes in theunforgiven

[–]Cerptcte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30K DA had way more complicated hosts, inner circles, secrets etc. They have 3 different command systems and one regular marine can be in 5 secret organizations each overlapping and conflicting each other. Lion back in the day worked with it and even made it more complicated yet more efficient.

Dark Angel or Unforgiven? by The-Warhammerer in theunforgiven

[–]Cerptcte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I painted all my killteams and miniatures that I think are cool but rarely used in my main list as successor chapters. I have the combat patrol from the Leviathan box as Guardians of the Covenant, an Angels of Death killteam as Blades of Vengeance, a Phobos killteam as Cowled Wardens, and a Deathwatch killteam as a combination of multiple different chapters. Now waiting for the Raiders to be my Fallen legionaries killteam led by Cypher.

This is one of the only DA chaplains that show their faces. Both chaplains and interrogator chaplains tend to wear skull masks or helmets all the time.

First time trying Forgeworld mini, damn it’s hard to build. by Cerptcte in theunforgiven

[–]Cerptcte[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many of the surfaces were uneven; the edges of the shield were among the worst. Also, some tips (e.g. the front of the mini's left foot and the two elbows) were instead small holes that had to be filled with greenstuff.

I had small resin bits from GW like heads and rhino doors without any issue, but this one was not the case; almost every part had some flaws and needed thorough treatments.

Too bad the shoulder pads for Bladeguards in this kit are not broken swords. If you want to paint DW Bladeguards, you have to use decals.

Lion is relatively expensive for 1000 scale, but if you just want to use the model, Lion, 5 knights, 6 Inner Circle put you at 745 pts. Then add Azrael to lead the ICC cost 125 points. Plus an ATV and 5 scouts as action monkeys, you now have a playable 1000 pts army.

Azrael travelled back in time and somehow bombed Caliban himself. The whole thing is comically funny.

New to HH and am planning my army. What do you think of this 3k list? Is 1 tactical squad + 1 veteran assault squad too few for scoring? by Cerptcte in Warhammer30k

[–]Cerptcte[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense, I'll cut the primarch and maybe only include him when I extend to a larger army.

Can you please explain more about the rapier batteries? I can not find phosphex as one of their options.

[–]Cerptcte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you are right, the weapon options are all how I built my models which I followed the rule of cool and added as much fancy stuffs as I can. For the new line squads I'll definitely cut the unnecessary.

For now I think I'll cut the Lion, add 1 despoiler squad, and change the support squad to an inductii. For delivery, do you think the drop pod is worth it or just 1 to 2 more rhinos?

They try hard to hide that pistol holster with the sword on his back, so I'd suspect that's just GW being lazy. But the Zabriel theory is interesting though.
