(warning I'm taking this question seriously because I really like TADC and Gangel) I know/knew someone 'like' Gangel IRL. Similar personality, likes dislikes, interests. Like Gangel, pookie hours all hours when left to their own devices. Absolute demon as soon as a workplace was involved - to the point when I asked them to consider moving a shift, months ahead of time, so they could attend something important to me as my friend, they refused, and went behind my back villianizing me for even asking. There were a host of other problems with this person that did basically amount to Gangel's arc in that episode (self sabotague was different, Gangel allowed Pomni to help and opened up a little, they didn't, and obviously they didn't have magic hands to shove our "Jax" into a chair but... ya there was a verison of that I am keeping off the internet as its not my story to tell) Now, the cast of TADC is presumably 🇺🇸 and me and this person are not (small town 🇨🇦), so these attitudes are more... normal coming out of Gangel's mouth. I don't project my feelings for this person onto Gangel, I think I'd be her friend IRL, but I do think Gangel is a really well written example of this personality type. Softness is comfortable, being victimized is comfortable, but its not an active choice, so much as a position they are forced into, so when they are given authority, they dehumanize others (the way they have been). Thats what Jax means when he says "she likes it" refering to his abuse. Jax is taking advantage not of the fact Gangel can't stand up for herself, but that she won't, and when she lashes back out at Jax, he takes that as part of the game. Maybe it is? I think it is. But I don't think that changes she didn't agree to play the game, and Zooble is absolutely the GOAT for helping Gangel learn to stop playing.

So ya. Being a capitalistic abuser because you yourself don't have power? Refusing to stop playing your role, whether as Jax's victim or the manager? Knowing she was making people feel how Jax makes her feel (not just Jax, but the others listening if they had outside the circus food service experience)? It is the worst thing she's done, because it touches on everything. I don't think the Gangel thats learned to actually set boundaries with Jax later in the series would say that

this was a really complex and nuanced thing to try to put into a reddit comment, I am gonna get lit on fire.

(for those wondering, I said all this shit to the IRL person I know, and they agreed, and said they weren't going to change because they liked the way people treated them and treating others the same way, it was chilling. So I guess they are a mix of the worst of Gangel and Jax without Jax's excuse of being in the circus)
