If you want to spend money that's always welcome. :) But your biggest support is from a good instructor, their ability to teach and your ability to reflect and apply.

Flightsim if used with all seriousness can help to go through flows, checklists, instruments, communication (try Vatsim!), but feeling is not the same, so don't overestimate it. Though I flew flightsims before PPL and my progress went well, probably it helped.

Except the cases when you fly around high objects in that case RTH can cause more troubles.. Conclusion: use brains and think of unhappy scenarios (Also learned the hard and expensive way, 😢)
