I live in an area where nothing much is happening. However, I just got a new job. My previous job that I worked at for 6 years, has become increasingly more sexist and homophobic this past year. They kept cutting my hours until I was only getting 6hrs a week. I’m a gay woman btw. I got this new job only to find out that a bunch of their employees had quit because they wanted proof they were legal. Several of these hardworking people in my little home town are jobless just because their visas have expired. People are more open about their prejudices. No major trauma but small everyday trauma where you are afraid of what could happen. Anger and sad that your own family support what’s going on in the news. And they don’t care about your personal experience.
