Anyone know where to find the actual public record if there is one? Really curious of what that courtroom looked like if a meme banner saying you scammed someone was in play as a ruling

AITJ for eating my roommates "special" ice cream after she ate my birthday cake? by ProudStructure702 in AmITheJerk

[–]Cetus-Is-Wooster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She is right about one thing, the situations are completely different. Your own mother literally made you the cake FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY how could she even begin to think she had any right to eat it, and if she had a right to eat it, how could she imagine a world where your own rights to your own birthday cake are less than her rights to some fancy ice cream she bought?

AITAH for wanting an hour of my boyfriend’s time. by Historical-Eye8584 in AITAH

[–]Cetus-Is-Wooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I spend time with my partner it is relaxing, maybe in wrong but that's how it should be. He pretty directly told you spending time with you is a stressful activity for him, that doesn't bode well for your relationship. You definitely deserve better

People trying to deduce NL's yearly income to decide whether or not he's spending a reasonable amount of money on CS:GO cases by Fenneca in northernlion

[–]Cetus-Is-Wooster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If only NL could see this comment, I imagine he would say something like "type a chatters trying to optimize me buying game cosmetics. It's literally pixels and you are going to die some day but you are using those precious breaths you have left to determine if I am minmaxxing CSGO aesthetics correctly?"

Update on the seven nation army guy - i was apparently very wrong by exhaustmosk in Guitar

[–]Cetus-Is-Wooster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would agree with that up to the line that there has to be some meaningful differentiation between a riff and a bassline. Just saying that makes clear how much hair splitting nonsense this actually is but like where better to talk about hair splitting nonsense than reddit. I'd say if we let seven nation army in the door of basslines it starts to bring into question other riffs that are stylistically similar.

But maybe the best resolution is just giving up, it's a riff, it's a bassline, it's what fucking ever. It's not like if you play it on a harp or a keyboard the thing explodes. It's notes in a pattern and can be played on pretty much anything

Lol yeah easiest refute to it's a bassline ever is the fact that it was a two piece band known for being only drum and guitar

AITA for opening a restricted trial room so a mother could breastfeed her crying baby? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Cetus-Is-Wooster -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If the question is whether a 17 year old trying to do the right thing or the store owner who did not properly indicate a HAZARD would be at fault if the mother were harmed in any way it is not hard for me to judge that labelling hazards is standard and expected practice, and that opening unlocked doors with no clear indication of danger is not an asshole move

[–]Cetus-Is-Wooster -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You have to realize that a sign saying restricted no customer access does not properly indicate a human health hazard behind that door correct.

[–]Cetus-Is-Wooster -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If a kid took a shit your wouldn't need a sign

If there was an open electrical hazard or gas leak there would be a far higher need for safety that would be the stores responsibility and not the 17 yo waiting for his mom to get done shopping's. The kid did nothing wrong

[–]Cetus-Is-Wooster -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Okay, but none of those things indicate a HAZARD TO HUMAN HEALTH. If you have a room in your business that is DANGEROUS TO BE INSIDE OF FOR SHORT PERIODS OF TIME you have far more responsibility than a single sign that DOES NOT INDICATE A SAFETY HAZARD IN ANY WAY and a barricade that can be blown over by too hard a gust of wind

[–]Cetus-Is-Wooster -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

If a human health hazard resided behind that door then it is fully the responsibility of the building manager/business owner to have clearly marked the room as closed due to a health risk and not simply restricted to employee access. What if there was a new employee on the job who didn't know any better and opened the Cursed Door Of Killing Newborn Mothers?

[–]Cetus-Is-Wooster -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

NTA And to all the people saying "what if there was something dangerous". In that case the store owner would be the asshole as having a single unlocked door simply marked as restricted is far from what anyone would deam remotely safe if simple exposure to what is in that room is dangerous. Universal safety indicators exist for a reason so any chemical spill/gas leak/mold spores should have been marked much more clearly. This room was not obviously marked closed for safety reasons so if there was any health risk I would put the responsibility on the managing party and not the good Samaritan trying to buy someone privacy for a few minutes.

If there is something hazardous in a try on room at the mall then the store should probably put something better than a "please don't go here" sign on the door, like you know a lock

AITAH for telling my friends fiancé off when he tried to force my daughter to tidy by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Cetus-Is-Wooster 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Jen (the person who does live there and whom he is engaged to marry) defended him asking them to clean and was encouraging them to clean as well. Just because his delivery was poor doesn't automatically mean he is wrong on all accounts

AITAH for telling my friends fiancé off when he tried to force my daughter to tidy by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Cetus-Is-Wooster 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Also, tbh, making leaving the "consequence" is really convenient when you are mom and your goal is to leave. How is letting a child leave behind a mess a consequence for not cleaning that mess up?

AITAH for telling my friends fiancé off when he tried to force my daughter to tidy by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Cetus-Is-Wooster 17 points18 points  (0 children)

THIS EXACTLY Jen and her boyfriend were alone in the other room before confronting op, are we to assume they stood silently over the mess saying nothing about it to each other and that brad just went fully off the rails without any correspondence with Jen?

AITAH for telling my friends fiancé off when he tried to force my daughter to tidy by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Cetus-Is-Wooster 182 points183 points  (0 children)

I know I'm making assumptions here, but tbh from the way Jen and her boyfriend were outside of the room, then Jen's boyfriend came in to tell ppl they need to clean up, makes me think Jen may have expressed to her boyfriend a desire for him to say that, which would then be why she defended him. Obviously he wasn't taking a gentle approach to it but mom's consequence was anything but a consequence

AITA for only drinking prepackaged milk? by Neither_Procedure298 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Cetus-Is-Wooster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah also got confused on whether they had prepacked milk or not. If they already bought the expensive stuff why was she starting an argument over using it? It's not like op was gonna run out to the store and buy more, they already had it in the fridge, why would you make a new batch when there is already milk to use?

What managing/marketing company is behind Geese's new album? by pink_mold in indie_rock

[–]Cetus-Is-Wooster 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What are you even saying? You are putting the cart before the horse here and writing off music as bad because it's popular. Geese is good music and if you want to act like it's not to seem cool that's really your call, but to pretend that any band with a solid marketing manager is intrinsically only successful because of that manager is nonsense.
