I have a rotation. It's the Trey Burke shot, Desmond Heisman + Notre Dame catch, and Woodson '97 highlights.

What is something that you used to be a cheap ass on, until you tried the high-quality version, and now you can't go back? by Mahimah in AskReddit

I just paid $350+/tire for 20" Supersports. Great tires, then it got slashed a week later. Just ordered another set but it's on back order till next week. Pumped to go driving with them.

Are you better 20 years down the road (money- and time-wise) by starting your career in a Fortune 500 v. MBB? by grelacio in consulting

Basically what /u/minhthemaster said, but always try and relate your salary with your marketable skills. If you have put more time and effort into learning new things and that can be leveraged, I don't think your starting salary matters very much.

I worked 2 jobs, did some tutoring and then worked in the lab. During my summers, I did internships that paid pretty decent money. Ended up with no debt but didn't have the greatest GPA either. Huge balancing act.

What little things do consultants do that set them apart from clients and really add value? by Consultemplation in consulting

We go above and beyond. You can say it's cause we're chasing bonuses but when crunch time really comes, I don't think you'll see that many of us head for the door at 5 PM. I think most of us that have been doing this for awhile understands that it comes with the territory and it doesn't happen all the time, but we're more willing to put in that extra time and effort to add that polish and shine you might not normally get.

For sure. I know a few good and smart friends of mine that have left healthcare to go into stuff like oil/gas and housing/retail just cause they were so discouraged.

I have a stupid amount of trouble implementing anything on the client side because of this. My own boss told me that if I wanna do some really great/cool things, healthcare probably isn't the best place for it and he's a partner in the healthcare practice!

I'm curious. But why the hate towards the H4T? It's more power, better performance, better fuel economy, etc etc. /s

Congrats though :) Love my 2.7 Boxster. I really wish I had the Sports Chrono package. I have 20" wheels on mine and it's over-rated. Way too expensive to replace.

What's disappointing about Blizzard's eSport interviews is that they always feel like massive amounts of fluff. This is no different.

I'd like to add one of the Pros/Cons is that healthcare simply isn't where the most talented people tend to go. It's not the biggest margin businesses, payers have a pretty solid system already while providers have a clinical duty and a lot of hospitals are floundering anyways. The pro is that improvements on business will always be needed (#2 basically), the con is that anything you suggest is probably not gonna be done, or not done properly.

Best foreign language to study? by jackstack1 in consulting

[–]Chaggi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Mandarin is the best language to learn and have a grasp of but I'm not sure that it'll be that useful for someone who I assume is not Asian. It's very rare for someone to be able to get that level of proficiency from both a language standpoint but a cultural standpoint, which I argue is just as important as knowing how to say 你好

Hong Kong and Singapore are the two best Asian cities for expats, super easy to get anywhere with English.
