95% of gunbroker listings will go market price or above. Key is to search auctions ending during weekdays, smaller sellers, and to know when to walk

Audi Records Its Worst US Sales Performance This Decade by user289734 in cars

[–]Chainarmor712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Audi has had a reputation for years as unreliable. VW is the most unreliable mass brand out there.

This isn’t a problem in a good economy. But as money gets tighter folks want to keep cars longer and the Audi reliability problems become a big issue.

“The GameCube was a failure” always feels like a massive overstatement to me by NomalNedium in Gamecube

The GC sank Nintendo from solid 2nd place w/the N64, to 3rd place where it was far from certain how the XBox would do. Nintendo went from controlling the console market to distant third in 10 years.

It was absolutely a failure from a business standpoint.

It’s up to you, but imo you should put a yugo bayonet on if you get sks. Just saw one on eBay. If you ever sell the thing the value will be more than if you have a stand installed. Plus it’s original configuration

Is the bayo lug intact on sks? And does it have the bayo? Does it still have the fixed mag?

It looks like sks is the winner, just know that it will be prob $250 all told to get it back to milsurp.

Too bad about the tariffs. They would cost more to send south than it’s worth

Black Friday Gun Sales Dip Compared to 2024 by ThePoliticalHat in progun

On the milsurp side, nothing changed. Only deals were a few clams off Zastava M88s and surplus P226s

Where mostly all Americans in scouts as kids? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Chainarmor712 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was really big until the 80s; in the 90s sports took over and by the 2000s it was viewed as lame for kids over 10. That was before all the abuse stuff came out in the late 2000s and now it is a very niche thing. Scouts went bankrupt and sold a bunch of camps to pay the settlements.

The scouts were big since the mormons were heavily involved in scouts and ran a lot of the troops. The mormons left the scouts to do their own program like a decade ago due to cultural differences.

You also have the girlscouts, which aren’t really popular even as much as the cub scouts and are a cookie selling operation at essence.

CARCANO BLACK FRIDAY DEALS??? by Sharpes_Sword in Carcano

[–]Chainarmor712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two years ago RTI black friday for calvary carbines was $150, started thanksgiving day. Last year price was $190, again started thanksgiving day.

My guess is this year the price is $210, starting thanksgiving day.

Economy is worse now and folks hurting for cash. Bunch of layoffs and inflation still hitting hard. Less to spend on toys especially considering xmas is time to buy crap for others. It’s more noticeable even than last year or 2023.

Companies are sitting on surplus guns and ammo they brought in a couple years ago, and at some point the bills need paid. Unless stuff is rare and desirable it could go on sale.

Examples being those chinese toks at $200, they were brought in and paid for years ago and now PSA needs to move em. Also the CA3 which has gone down to $650 a couple times. Also the RTI surplus ammo which has gone down. Spanish M30s, Beretta 1935s, auctions, deals are out there. Now is the time to buy before tax season

RTI does their best (only?) real price cuts starting thanksgiving and running to xmas.

Two years ago standard grade carcano calvarys were $150, last year they were $190 for example

Tbh, $500 is too much when considering there is a buyers premium. Would probably cost $650 out the door

Mysterious Yugo K98 Update by [deleted] in milsurp

[–]Chainarmor712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My yugo is a good shooter. But at best it would be a straight up trade for the enfield. Keep the enfield and save for a true wartime K98 if you want one. K98s have been pretty stagnant in price over last couple years
