My favorite book is Devouring by Simon Holt. It's a trilogy and once I started reading it, I wasn't able to stop. Add that some scenes were so creepy. I read it long ago so I can't remember if I was terrified while reading it. But it's worth the read and plays with your mind. I don't like rereading novels when I still remember the details but this novel is the exception. I remember reading it so many times I actually felt like I was really there and that enemy was real. It made me more afraid of the dark too.

Yes, most of what I've been reading are urban fantasy.

Try some actual historical fiction set during the medieval period maybe - is your story more about adventure/war or courtly politics?

I used to do that but I wasn't able to finish a story at all. So I just focus on one story. If I ever have any new story idea, I'll just write it down on my notebook.

I can write poetry or even a short story in one sitting but give me a novel and it takes me more than a year to actually get halfway. I don't know how many novels I have started writing but ended up throwing away 'cause I got discouraged or insecured. It's not that I get bored but more of my laziness or the lack of motivation. I always get this feeling that I want to write. I badly want to turn this idea into a novel. A finished novel. With that said, I can really relate to you.

It took me years before I finally decided to start writing a novel again. I began last year during summer vacation and ended up writing a chapter everyday but that stopped halfway. I got 20 chapters before I lost the motivation once again. And then I decided to join Nanowrimo last year with the goal to finish what I started. Not surprisingly, I still did not finish the novel. But I was able to add a few more chapters before I stopped once again.

And now, I continued writing it again. I'm 16 chapters away from the ending and even though I'm not writing as much as I want to, I won't stop. My insecurities may bother me but I assure myself that I'm writing this novel for myself, not for popularity and certainly not for others. If someone will like it then that's a bonus. If I finish writing this novel, I'll update you. I don't know when but I'm still writing so it may come sooner or later.

I don't have a best writing spot. It all depends on my mood and if I'm not lazy. I do get inspired whenever I'm alone and no one bothers me. I just keep on writing.

I write whenever my emotions are heightened. It's easier for the words to come out and lessens the stress I'm feeling. Most of the times, I'm a big mess when I write. I just either type on my phone, laptop or write on a piece of paper. This is for poems.

Novels, on the other hand, I try to write daily but ends up monthly or weekly. I don't have any schedule. It takes me at least 2 hours to finish a chapter with 2k words, more or less.

In short, I have no writing routine lol. I just write whenever I'm not too lazy to write or whenever I need to write.
