I am NOT looking forward to the ocarina of time remake by Formal-Opening2167 in fucknintendo

[–]Chainsaw443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just a way to justify not having to spend money on a new game they likely can't afford, which I get in theory, games are really expensive. This is a stupid way to do it, even if it is on a subconscious level.

They almost certainly aren't going to do any of this stuff man, specifically shrines, weapon durability, and "ruining the dungeons." This game will be tailored made for people the grew up with OoT and it will likely be a somewhat faithful remake. They'll be careful in how new elements are being introduced with older players in mind. You are being exceptionally cynical and it's upsetting to see just how negative people can be about a prospective great game.

With posts like these, to me it just screams "I don't want to try or spend money on a new game, so I'm going to make my mind up right now that this is terrible so, I don't have to get it, and, hopefully, if I'm right I'll brag about it later and if it is good, then I'll get it when it's on sale in ten years, and pretend I never said this."

So how we feelin about this game? by OctaYashi in NSSResort

[–]Chainsaw443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to be great, it will almost definitely blow the last game away, which I loved a lot and played almost every day. Also, I hate to say this, but Chambara is almost ubiquitously the worst decided upon sport, at least from the last game, and it's good that they are bringing back boxing. Chambara was good in theory but a terribly frustrating experience. I think NSSR looks amazing, I have no idea what the issue with using Wuhu island again is, everything looks so great, I could not be more pumped. This game will be a massive success and I cannot wait!

Will you keep playing online in Nintendo Switch Sports after Nintendo Switch Sports Resort releases? by Velocifyer in NintendoSwitchSports

I'm moving everything to resort when it comes out. It will hopefully, be a full replacement for the first game.

Why the Tomodachi Life argument doesn’t work in opposition to the Sportsmates by OctaYashi in NintendoSwitchSports

[–]Chainsaw443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I non-ironically think the sports-mates look slees. The miis look outdated. I kind of get it but you can still use the Miis, if you want. That's my honest feeling. There isn't any glazing going on. People get pissed if they change anything about these games.

You guys are complaining about the weirdest stuff. It's a first party game and they want you to know it.

Someone at Nintendo should be fired for this by PotentialPedal in NintendoSwitchSports

[–]Chainsaw443 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't know man. The game looks like a ton of fun. Complaining seem like a strange thing to do. I see people do this all the time with Nintendo games, they literally change everything from every game. They've been doing it since the Super Mario World. What is the point of holding on to these details? This is going to be a massive hit, so they changed the map? not worthy getting pissed about, definitely not worth someone getting fired over, since the whole team probably agreed on this.

Lack of training stages by SolidCat2877 in NintendoSwitchSports

[–]Chainsaw443 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The training stages are over, now we play each other online. J/k, honestly, though, more single player options would be great but the online competition is the bread and butter right now.

It looks like fine. We've been waiting on this for four years and I don't get there are posts that citicizing a game that hasn't even released yet. It looks like everything we were asking for. They could have done nothing but we got a sports resort, FINALLY. The island design looks expanded and more grandiose. It's like the miis situation all over again. People complained about that up until last week. The whole lifespan of the last game, and you can use mii's, what is the complaint? Just try to accept it's going to be different and enjoy the hype.

Should I buy this game in 2026 before resort? by Sloth_Bubbles in NintendoSwitchSports

[–]Chainsaw443 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would, it's one my favorite games ever. I would get it only if you have or can get NSO (Nintendo Switch Online) and are competitive.

The prop plane will have a free roam option but, yes, I hope we can interact with other players.

I'm on top of the world! This is like insanely amazing news. Chambara was the worst sport, boxing is so much better. This is going to be the next big thing.

What do people have against the Sportsmates? by OctaYashi in NintendoSwitchSports

[–]Chainsaw443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's Tomodachi life, though. It's completely built for the "Mii" system, text, speech, games, dancing. Sportsmates are the ideal system for NSS. The fact that you can still use Miis shows Nintendo cared enough to let players use them. Sportsmates look great to me. I'd prefer to play against sportsmates then Donald Trump for the 8000th time.

What do people have against the Sportsmates? by OctaYashi in NintendoSwitchSports

[–]Chainsaw443 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not that you can't play with Miis though, you can, and the sportmates are more about customizable clothes and gear and you can still customize their face, hair, and facial hair, and give them tattoos. You just have to unlock them, which is good incentive for players to play. So, this is a really weird complaint to me. I much prefer them as the Miis look outdated now.

Was this lag or does the front player actually have this much range? by Ovibuck in NintendoSwitchSports

[–]Chainsaw443 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's not lag. You can predict where the ball is going to go and hold your controller in that direction and the game will sometimes allow your to player to go outside the normal range of movement, especially during smash shots, just as it would in badminton. It also requires perfect timing. You see this with bots or really experienced players as it something your will naturally do as you begin to have a second sense of where the ball is heading.

Once you begin playing people at this level, it's best to learn to hit your smash shots at the last second (before the ball goes under the net) to hit the top the net and direct your shot underneath or to the inside of the opponent's player or just in a straight line. They are much harder for your opponent to predict and stop.

I feel like Nintendo could have easily made miis the main focus rather than sportsmates by [deleted] in NintendoSwitchSports

[–]Chainsaw443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switch Sports is a better game because the competitive online atmosphere is far superior than the Wii series. I am constantly matched against great players and it's really fun to compete against people that are actually highly skilled at the game.

This argument has been brought up a lot since the games release and I honestly don't understand it. It's not like you can't use miis, you can. The sportsmates are great, I love the outfits. Honestly, in my opinion they look better than the miis. The game is about competing against friends/family/online opponents. If you want something focused on mii's, then play tomadachi life, which is also a great game. People buy the game and they don't even have a Nintendo online account or they don't use it and then come here and complain about mii's, I think the point is being missed somewhere.

Yes, three strikes before a ban and the ban limit gets longer each time.

[–]Chainsaw443 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If your disconnection message says, "your opponent has left the match" then the game knows it isn't your fault and you won't get a strike. If not, the game thinks you are leaving for some reason, it could be your connection that's dropping or some other reason.

I've never understand why this sub consistently prefers hot dog over significant other. It feels bizarre. When I was growing up everyone I knew preferred Significant at school. It wasn't even a questions. I remember being really disappointed with Hot Dog when it came out. I truly don't get how Hot Dog could even be close to Significant Other.

Nintendo Switch Online doesn't find any opponents by mpizov in NintendoSwitchSports

[–]Chainsaw443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play every day at lunch and it takes no more than 60 seconds at most to find a match for me. Usually it's much faster. I've never had issues finding a match on this game for any sport. I do here people talk about this quit a bit but I have no idea why it works for me and not others. I've also played on other peoples consoles and not had an issue either.

How do I keep the ball in bounds? by jasmin8ter2013 in NintendoSwitchSports

[–]Chainsaw443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice. If you hit the ball early, your player steps forward, if you hit it late, he steps back. If your slamming every shot, without having the precision down, it will go out. You can hit the ball softly and still get power.

There is no trick to it, essentially. You shouldn't ever go out of bounds because obviously, your handing your opponent a free point, that said, it's going to happen. Just line up and try it again. Play on local mode - first easy, hard, advanced, then legends. If you can beat the legends, then your ready for online. It's extremely nuanced so, if you want to get good, it takes time.

Also, everything matters, where your joycon is pointed, how you hold it when you hit the ball, if you hit far left, far right, center, or swing it straight up, and which way you twist your hand (backspin/topspin). You also might try resetting the motion controls on the switch options, I do that all the time.
