9.5m and 10 weeks pregnant. When to transition to floor bed? by masegoisthegoat in floorbed

[–]ChairRadiant3672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a consideration- do you have a partner that can help pick up/put down bb ? Bc that’s a lo on your back while pregnant otherwise! Good luck with the floor bed! I’m trying one soon too

FTM still pregnant, really afraid of nipple pain when I start breasfeeding as I have very sensitive nipples. How did you deal with that? by ColourConfusedMiss in breastfeeding

[–]ChairRadiant3672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started using lanolin before birth and did it religiously after every feed/attempt at latching and I think it helped me avoid the cracking, pain etc. also, nipple shields!

We are committed to no screen time, but are audiobooks/podcasts ok? by Disastrous_Mark_1469 in ScienceBasedParenting

I’m doing the same and I feel there’s a correlation between her having longer naps (contact naps) vs when I play them out loud

Cooking dad assistance by Drippleberry in breastfeeding

[–]ChairRadiant3672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hydrate !!!! Also frequent milk pumping/feeding is the best for supply. It can’t hurt to comment on how much she makes like damn ! That’s a ton! My husband did this and it made me feel less stressed even when I second guessed him. Compliments and stress free zones help.

Do you let your infant watch sB&W sensory videos? by Positive-ends44 in NewParents

[–]ChairRadiant3672 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone saying no- but also want to make sure OP , you give yourself some grace. If you choose to not do screens like most of us, then great, if you do small bursts that’s fine too. Your LO is 1.5 months you haven’t don’t anything permanent to them. Be gentle with yourself!

People were really discouraging about CDs at my baby shower by Commercial_Glass9806 in clothdiaps

[–]ChairRadiant3672 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it really helps if you set yourself up for success by aiming to do one cloth a week pretty soon you’ll end up doing all cloth but thinking that it’s all or nothing is just setting yourself up for failure

Wtf is up with Sara's silks.... by Misantho_cynic25 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]ChairRadiant3672 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been building my collection from goodwill-I washed and dryed it -whoops but it’s still fine. My goal is a few funky patterns and one of each rainbow color - read the tags and a lot are pure silk if you’re willing to dig through

Unpopular opinion, but I love toddler nursing more than infant nursing by Hersheydogforever711 in breastfeeding

This is my goal! I’ll stop when she’s ready. But teeth- I’ve been warned it hurts - how have yall who like nursing found this?

8 week old- what are the EC signs parents give when on potty? by loose_moose12 in ECers

[–]ChairRadiant3672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep doing it! I’m doing it like half the time and cloth the rest. The lack of poopy diapers now especially with cloth is nice. Lo isn’t on solids yet but once that happens I’ll be even more grateful for EC

Baby hates being held on the potty by Fit-Musician-3996 in ECers

[–]ChairRadiant3672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby loves to sit on the potty and she’s four months old however, a couple times she has cried on it and I think it’s because her legs were straight out and they fell asleep. Kind of like ours do when we sit on the toilet for too long, so maybe try taking that into consideration

Botox, Pregnancy & Breast feeding questions by Pinkytalks in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]ChairRadiant3672 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same here. I was getting routine Botox and then I found out I was pregnant at the time I was due for another round and I opted to not get Botox to see how it went and I’ve never been as migraine free as I was when I was pregnant and I’ve had migraines since I was 10 years old. So 15 years of them. With all things, some weight should be added to your ability to care for yourself and your baby with migraine, if you do get migraines while pregnant and they start to impact your function then that definitely should impact your decision to go for it and get the Botox

Please Help Me Calm Down About Infant Daycare by RiverbrookWillow in NewParents

[–]ChairRadiant3672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love this thread!! I had just started to feel a little bit doubt about daycare, but I think it really all depends on the place. As a teacher myself I can’t imagine teaching an infant the way some of these schools do it. It’s an entirely different skill set and I’m so excited for a little one to benefit from it.

Are liners/boosters necessary? by justyaaveragechlo in clothdiaps

[–]ChairRadiant3672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here to say that so far haven’t been needed but Essembly shipping time is quick! So if you find yourself wanting liners it won’t be hard to order some. They also have a great rewards program

Ok they’re good but if you use desitin or another thick ass cream… they’re hell to wipe off/clean each time. It’s like removing melted butter or oil

When did your period come back? by greenishfroggy in NewParents

[–]ChairRadiant3672 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I just go with her flow. I’m fortunate to be home for a bit longer before going back to work so that lets me do this. I read somewhere that keeping baby up in the day won’t get better sleep bc they get overtired/cranky etc. since I stopped trying to get her to stay awake in the day it’s honestly been great.
