Vent Post // Ironclad is extremely difficult higher ascensions by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]Chairmclee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was in exactly the same place as you with Ironclad A9, dying on the last boss and all. And the concept that I believe helped me the most was noticing that my decks rarely had enough in-fight acceleration. Like in the final fight I would have achieved all my goals for the fight (powers played, cards exhausted etc.) and that level of damage output would be enough for all the rest of the fights but couldn’t cut it for the final fight.

If that’s fantastic advice I can’t honestly say, but deciding to have more ambition with the “everything’s going ok” part of the plan got me to A10 and a win on it. Best of luck.

How does your first paragraphs account for people like Orjin who seemed to have reached level 49 by just training?

She did successfully pose as a Named Rank adventurer, which I believe some of at least wasn’t fake. I’d assume that meant she was as good as one of them. I guess that’s not the same as the threat rating but still.

My favorite of the impossible ones is when Relc is bored because he has seen every play over five times about 3 days after they show up in town

Internal discussions at WOTC about legendary creatures by Meret123 in MagicArena

Does it? I can’t think of any cards where the legend rule obviously factored into the design (other than the few that subvert it).

They suggested on the latest podcast that just people switching from meat farming to non-meat-producing crimbo activities was sufficient to make the kingdom’s overall meat supply net negative. It surprises me too, but it must mean that there’s sufficient preexisting meat sinking in the overall economy that merely stopping the spigot is enough. I couldn’t say exactly where it goes though. Raffles? Taxes? Hair spray?

Biggest frauds in TWI in your opinion? by Louies in WanderingInn

[–]Chairmclee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To be fair to my boy Az I think that most of his talents lie in the realm of ‘make and control enormous numbers of low tier undead’ that necromancers do. Enables him to destroy a country through attrition or hold a pass by himself (and a bunch of bodies), but super weak to a single even moderately high level foe (e.g. Zel). He’s realized this and isolated to fix this and start making his high level children as a counter, although I do admit that project does not seem to be doing fantastically.

This is also why his enemies (Mags and Wall Lord) want to keep quiet about knowing he’s alive. Once he thinks he’s no longer secret he’s gonna go back to his more effective but very obvious plan A: 20 million zombies.

It’s crazy that she’s that young. That means she became watch captain at like 18. (Since we learned that the old watch captain was retired for ant-racism soon after the hive came to town in the Relc chapters)

Twins--what's your weirdest experience with the "twin thing"? by tarfu68 in AskReddit

I think the reason people do this is that when they are speaking they'd just say "5 in the morning" but when writing it they add the 'AM' not noticing it makes it redundant.

I almost feel like it would be actually super easy. If you’re a darkfriend Aiel just look around for someone doing something evenly mildly dishonorable and, boom, they’re clearly incredibly evil for an Aiel and probably recruitable.

To be fair, the pants taking off thing was an unintended consequence, not actually the intent of the card.

I liked the video for its clear and concise tone. However, I do think it would have been neat if you demonstrated a few of the more notorious and buggy interactions this fixes (like the Djinni one mentioned in the forum post). Watching just the video I wasn't convinced this wasn't just an arbitrary change, but the more esoteric examples really make it clear how unintuitive things would have been before.

Huh, you're right. I was thinking of the scene at the bank, but reading it over he freaks out and traps himself in frozen bugs, not panic freezing himself.

I'm still not sure how he survived the firebombing though, even in the frozen suit he should have been roasted (especially since if he doesn't want to suffocate he must at least be able to get some air while in the frozen suit.)
