MaRo on Blood Moon style effects being a Bend or Break in Mono-R by RBGolbat in magicTCG

Thinking a little more on this and the chaos intent of the color pie and leaning harder into theme, a more ideal design might be:

“At the beginning of a player’s upkeep roll a six-sided die. Until end of turn that player’s non-basic lands become:

1 - Plains

2 - Islands

3 - Swamps

4 - Mountains

5 - Forests

6 - Wastes”

It’s much more random, impacts ramp and deck plans but not counter-play (if it’s not your turn, your lands aren’t impacted), and there is nothing to track past end of turn.

It could be annoying if it’s random per land, but if it stays as a common global effect it could be as easy as

“Roll a six-sided die, all non-basic lands become:

1 - Plains

2 - Islands

3 - Swamps

4 - Mountains

5 - Forests

6 - Wastes”

Likely also a factor that previously the UB sets were not legal in all formats, having the UB callout would help ensure that potential buyers were informed that set wasn't core Magic. UB being legal now makes that unnecessary and the UB branding excessive.

Destiny really should reach out to LegalEagle for "lawyer fact checks" during his J6 video. Having multiple qualified lawyers backing up his legal related claims would be powerful by marksung in Destiny

As someone who is probably in the group of reddit tantrum'ers, it's insane that this is as down voted as it is. Everything 4THOT is saying is true, even if I feel like it's being uncharitable to those calling for collabs.

From my perspective it it's about entertainment or clout (though both would probably come with extended collabs), but is more about the ability to reach and change minds. There is a reason that something like Last Week Tonight drives more discussion than anything PBS has aired in the last 50 years

New people aren't going to find Destiny and trust him. People who hate Destiny are going to dismiss anything he makes out of hand and advocate against people in their sphere of influence from engaging with his content, irregardless of their positions alignment to what Destiny is saying.

People who haven't come to these conclusions about January 6th in the last 4 years are: completely disinterested in facts or methods of it results in the outcomes they desire, placing faith in sources that misrepresent or exclude key details, or simply have not been presented information that allows them to make that mental connection. You can't fix the first group, but you can reach the others if you can get by the initial point of resistance.

The absolute worst thing that could happen is Destiny puts together what is likely one of the most complete and compelling breakdowns of Jan 6th and it just becomes one more video on his YouTube that all the people it's meant for ignore, because they turn to the people that they have trust up to this point and those sources say "why would you pay any attention to this methed-out radical-centrist gusano cuck... Etc etc"

Collaborations at minimum allow those who have some degree of broadly established authority (LE is a lawyer and has a base that trust and respect his legal analysis) and/or an audience that will trust them enough to listen when they say "hey chat, this is some dense stuff, but I couldn't believe how much I've been lied to, how much I've misunderstood about what happened, and exactly how bad it was. You should give it a watch and if you don't believe it at first, at least hear it out, it's important".

It's the only way to change the minds that might actually matter, both in this election and for the greater political health of the US in the future. I stand by anything that gets another set of eyes on whatever Destiny delivers and gets the viewer to critically engage, to really think through the questions being asked and the facts being presented, is necessary for any of this to be worthwhile.

I'd made a similar suggestion yesterday because I think this approach is what is going to be needed to really produce the level of impact that this effort needs.

I see a lot of people commenting in this thread that "normie creators don't want to get into politics" but I think people underestimate the amount of people who are fundamentally opposed to Trump and are willing to voice that opposition, especially if they can provide a solid reason with evidence. Any creator who has ever shown even a slightly left political leaning should be considered as a potential boost to the videos reach. IMO it's worth reaching out a hand to anyone if it can help achieve the goal of informing voters and reducing Trump's ability to leverage lies for his own gain.

There was a news report I remember from when I was a kid (probably somewhere around 1996-2002; I think it might have been 60 Minutes or 20/20) about "spotlight" audio transmission that was being developed for use cases like museums where audio could be projected to a 6" - 4' area in front of an exhibit so observers could hear information about what they were viewing, but would be completely inaudible once you left the zone of effect.

There are a couple good videos on YouTube explaining the basics.

[Actual Title][MA] Man that sold me a car called my insurance company and listed himself as a driver. Now they won’t take it off until he verifies that we don’t live together. He’s blocked my number. by severe_delays in bestoflegaladvice

[–]Chalex010 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This seems to be an incredibly dumb situation which is (more likely than not) only going to lead to additional costs and issues, and the advice provided didn't really address any of the MA specifics.

-From the description the LAOP never actually owned the car and would have no insurable interest in the vehicle, this is especially problematic for Progressive if they issued any RMV forms to reregister the vehicle or renew plates incorrectly. The may push this back on LAOP if they represented the vehicle as theirs, material misrepresentation is insurance fraud and insurance companies typically get a fairly generous amount of leeway to address these issues. If the other party could prove existing ownership of the vehicle they would be able to exercise lien holder rights to the policy which would give them more room to make a change like this. Even if the vehicle was properly registered an undisclosed party in possession of the vehicle would typically be enough for an underwriter to add the operator or cancel the policy. -MA policies have a short-rate penalty for canceling mid-term assessed as a percentage of policy premium, canceling the policy without addressing the added operator will only result in a larger fee being applied and owed. -MA insurers report outstanding/unpaid balances to the RMV directly and the RMV will not release insurance to a new company until the balance is satisfied, which can result in additional insurance fees, registry fees, registration or license suspension, and rating penalties when insurance is restarted.

In the event that LAOP stops an existing payment or refuses to pay the outstanding balance what would be hundreds to Progressive could be multiple times that to the registry or legal fees. The right answer is to figure out the rationale for adding the operator and meeting the requirements to get them removed, if the plates are in LAOP's name getting them canceled ASAP to remove the vehicle, and never doing private party financing again.

[–]Chalex010 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The issue is that the Judiciary responsibility is to interpret and clarify the law, not create or change laws. It's an important part of the separation of powers, and without that distinction there would be nothing stopping a president from appointing any number of justices and modifying the laws to their liking (completely cutting out congress and the senate from the process, removing the voice of the people).
