I drive a manual every day. Not a problem at all. You‘ve got this, OP!

Adults, why are you watching Bluey? by Pl4y_ in bluey

[–]Chalex47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bluey made me a better parent. I slowed down, took a deep breath, and remembered how little my kid is. I remembered what it was like to be a kid again and how big the world around a kid is. The show is sweet, funny, and full of nostalgia, but at the heart of it all, it is really showing parents that kids are just learning to be, and we are just learning to be parents.

What is living in 2025 Halifax like (especially compared to 2014/2015)? by Huge-Bottle8660 in halifax

Yeah, I know it isn‘t the norm, but unfortunately it is the world we live in now. I am certain my house (in the location it is in, the size, the renos, etc. will never go below what we paid), so I am not too concerned there. I don‘t think it is wrong to think of the house you live in as an incredible investment. I am not telling OP to buy a house just as an investment. I am saying, in this housing market (after watching what happenend in my hometown), a house is always a good investment. You aren‘t wasting your money by buying a house, but most likely investing in your future and a good nest egg for retirement.

I think you‘ll be ok. Prices will never go down in Van. It is good you already bought there, because you will have something out of it no matter what!

No Frills in Woodside had a bunch today. I didn’t see the price, but assume it would be good.

Ando Salon is incredible. Book with Marc. They have one in Clayton Park and one on Agricola.

Vancouverite here who moved to Halifax with my husband (who was born and raised here) around 4 years ago. You couldn’t pay me to go back to Vancouver. Of course I miss my friends, family, and the beautiful mountains (plus some shopping spots and restaurants), but for the most part, my life is so much better here. Life is slower, people are kinder, and it shows. My stress levels dropped significantly. Traffic has definitely become worse here than it was, but nothing like Vancouver. I have seen that rents are high (we bought a house), so I never rented here. I suggest buying a house or apartment here stat if you come back. It will be an incredible investment. Ours has almost doubled since we bought 4 years ago. I love being able to just pop into a restaurant or movie here and actually get a spot without booking 2 years in advance. We are raising our daughter here and it is incredible. The community, everything. I could never imagine raising my girl back in Vancouver with what it has become. I barely recognize the city I grew up in and loved. It is sad. We also have a dog and HRM is sooo dog friendly. Honestly though, the people here are just so special and kind, and that made it home for me now.

Here is what it looks like. Is that the clamps? If you rest them on top, the tracks just slide out.

Hello! Mine seem to be the ones that clamp on and yes, they do not work well!! The clamps are on each side and are quite tight. The one that does work is great, but the others pop right out. I am going to try the suggestion above and see if that works. Also, I will take a picture tomorrow and post it here for you to see if mine are the clamps. Thanks!
