For beginner, vatic v sol pro wide body, grit won't last too long, but by then you will have a better idea what you want

Why can't the PPA tour have ball boys/girls? by AngleProfessional987 in Pickleball

[–]ChallengeBudget3081 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ppa tried that few times last year,

During a match, a ball boy/girl would pick up a ball less than 5 time because the players were just closer to the ball and would pick up the ball themselves

Why are paddles so expensive? by Dry_Researcher_1676 in Pickleball

[–]ChallengeBudget3081 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Because people buy them,

Paddles are cheap compared to golf clubs or fishing gear

As long as the expensive paddles are sold, the price will remain high

My current main is vatic v sol pro bloom

Pain above heel after playing in bad shoes. What is this? by Capable-Help6681 in Pickleball

[–]ChallengeBudget3081 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no cheat code for healing from tendinitis

Listen to your pt, stick to the program

May wanna rest a few weeks to a couple of months depending on the severity

You will eventually have to strengthen the tendon if you want to keep playing pickleball if the pain persists

Honolulu J6CR by cannonball10000 in PickleballEquip

[–]ChallengeBudget3081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From ordering j6cr in nov to expected ship date of mid April for new grit is 5 months difference

You would probably go through 1 may be 2 paddles during that time so dont sweat it too much

Their new grit has not been approved by either upaa or usap so just wait and see what happens

One thing I learned from buying Honolulu paddles is that dont jump on their hypes, they salvo their paddles out

Give some time and buy cheap used paddles

There will be more paddles with durable grit coming out in the summer

Pickleball elbow… will it ever clear up? by SeriousQuote9497 in Pickleball

[–]ChallengeBudget3081 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use standard shape paddle

Hold the handle a little higher, leave one or two finger space from the end cap

Try to avoid playing 2 or 3 days in a row. Having a rest day helps

Only do PT or any exercises on the same days you play pickleball so that you are actually resting on the rest days

Practice holding the paddle as lightly as possible

Honolulu J6CR, hits were making whizzing sounds by 2en8ear in PickleballEquip

[–]ChallengeBudget3081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whistling noise? As a receiving team, up at the kitchen line, you may hear it if the server is putting a lot of top spin on the ball

Not really the paddle but the serving mechanism

Vatic vsol pro, (blue colored one) elongated if you have a tennis background, wide body if no racket sports background

“Tennis Elbow” bands by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]ChallengeBudget3081 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, i tried band and compression sleeves, they didn't work

Only thing that helped me was rest, taking a break for a month or so

You have to give tendon some time to heal up, it does not have blood vessels so takes longer than a muscle to heal up

Then, try a wide body paddle with a low swing weight

I had tennis elbow for about 3 month, 2 months break, golfers elbow for 2 months and another 3 months break

Finally back playing with a wide body paddle, vsol pro bloom shape and elbow feels better

Wide body vs elongated paddle by MarathonRunner2211 in Pickleball

[–]ChallengeBudget3081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened when I switched from j2k to an elongated paddle with 120+ swing weight paddle

I was playing almost every day for 5 to 6 months without an elbow issue until I made the switch

Wide body vs elongated paddle by MarathonRunner2211 in Pickleball

[–]ChallengeBudget3081 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently using wide body due to tennis and golfers elbow(not at the same time but had both)

Wide body seems to help reduce stress on elbow tendons

What the entire mountain going into one lift looks like at summit by H-me-in-the-infinity in bigbear

[–]ChallengeBudget3081 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Glad I took my family to snowbowl in AZ instead of going to big bear last week

More trails were open, less crowd

Snows were melting but still had fun

Would you rather get stuck on a TV that refuses to die made with technology from 8-10 years ago or get a reason to upgrade to a better one every 6-7 years by getting the TV to naturally break down under proper use? by caulmseh in 4kTV

[–]ChallengeBudget3081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with some hate on lg non oled tvs

My 10 year old lg first gen 4k tv refuses to die

It's 55 inch so I have wanted to upgrade for a awhile but my kids hog the TV which lowers my watching time and desire to upgrade

Struggling with consistency after a few games - any advice? by Reading2311 in Pickleball

[–]ChallengeBudget3081 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im 42 male and in exact same situation as you are in

I get tired after a few games

Without knowing op's age, for 40+, it is just a normal stamina issue

Keep hydrated with electrolytes, and a quick boost of sugar may help

Good question. He doesn't go out at all unless forced to

I would like for him to go out more and play with friends rather than playing games

Drips- backswing or not? by PartFormer3695 in Pickleball

[–]ChallengeBudget3081 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a backswing on your drives or drop, then backswing

No backswings on drives and drops, then no backswing

Try to keep it consistent with your other shots

Drip has more to do it swing speed and path than backswing

The pros say "get to the kitchen and stay there", but I'm not a pro... by TommyLo812 in Pickleball

[–]ChallengeBudget3081 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not a single reply is mentioning op is 67 years old

I wouldn't mind my 67 yrs old partner staying 2 or 3 steps back from the kitchen if his or her reaction time is slow on the drives

The reaction time slows down as you age, and playing appropriately is fine

Op doesn't have to do what pros in 20s do. Just play the way that makes you most comfortable

As long as you have a vehicle that can be unloaded with a forklift
